Nice chicken frill. And how was that not a call? That bounced off the dudes arm.

I wouldn't want to really play if I were eliminated early. Or maybe go out of my way and injure people, I guess.

Yeah, they're not great.

I like the ref for Netherlands - Chile, if only because he's the first one not to give an undeserved penalty to our opponents.

Well Brazil is all but through now, about time for Croatia to do something.

Huge blunder by the ref in Croatia vs Mexico.

edit: also Croatia isn't looking good, I'm still rooting for them since I think their playstyle is very weak against the Netherlands.

That's two definite hands.

I know it was a joke earlier, but now I really wouldn't be surprised if a knife fight breaks out.

Feels kind of good for Mexico after all those blown calls.

Yeah, still not happy about it though. I'm dreading a game similar to Netherlands vs Australia with Mexico.

And 2 - 0, we know what we'll be facing now I guess.

That was some save, and not Ochoa this time.

And that's that. Game over.

If it helps I'm sure they're saying the same thing. There still time left, you prefer Mexico or Brazil?

Yeah, see, that's what I'd do. If I'm going to be going home, I'd be out to kill some people.

Mexico, obviously. They don't have someone with the individual qualities of someone like Neymar so they'll struggle to score against us just that bit more and we do have Robben, Van Persie and Depay who have all shown their ability to score at important moments.

I'm hoping Mexico will play like Chile did today rather than hanging back and leaving us to make the plays.

Mexico have a long and proud history of going out in the last 16. You guys will be fine.

Brazil will find it tricky against Chile, though. They're such a one-man team these days. They might still win the WC if they've been smart enough to buy the refs. Otherwise, no chance.

Mexico does seem to be very similar to Chile with the way they play but with a little less individual quality and less rushed when they've got the ball. I think they'll be about as difficult although the Mexicans may be a lot easier to annoy and provoke to get them to play badly.

I agree, although I think Chile is more offensive naturally and quite a bit better on the ball. And like you say they have a couple of really good players in Alexis Sanchez and Vidal. They'll threaten the brazilian defence, which despite having great individuals looks a bit shaky. I think if Brazil win it'll be through a dodgy pen or some bullsh*t offside. Should be a great game though.

I think Chile's weakness currently is that they're too offensively minded and too rushed in possession which causes them to make mistakes.

And lets not forget that their right side was shut off by a winger in his 30's assisted by a midfielder playing as center back. Although Kuyt played very well as a left back he is no natural defender. It shouldn't have been as effective as it was and Brazil won't make it any easier for Chile.
