According to the HP the ballot choices were:

Are you in favour of the reunification of Crimea with Russia as a part of the Russian Federation?

or

Are you in favour of restoring the 1992 Constitution and the status of Crimea as a part of Ukraine?

The 1992 constitution is not currently in force; it declares Crimea to be part of Ukraine, but also to be sovereign. If Crimea is sovereign, the leader of its parliament has declared his intention to join the Russian Federation.

It's a no choice poll.

It's from Huffington Post. I'm sure the translator is designed to lean to the left.

The wording of the translation isn't important, knowing what the 1992 Constitution actually is, is.

This is incorrect. The May 1992 Constitution puts Crimea as essentially a Territory of Ukraine, In the sense it is part of the Ukraine but Governs itself and takes little influence on government of Kiev. This was changed in June when Kiev said it wouldn't accept that and forced Crimea to change it under threat of expulsion from Ukraine, Crimean government said ok. (i explained the difference last page)

Everything I said is precisely correct. The May constitution declares Crimea to be both sovereign and a part of Ukraine. If Crimea becomes sovereign again, as it would were this constitution to be resurrected, its leaders have said they will vote to join with Russia. The independence of Crimea was the part that Ukraine demanded be changed; it did not demand that all autonomy be given up.

Interesting, someone is trying to stir the pot.

BBC Live feed wrote:

One Ukrainian serviceman and one member of the Crimean self-defence forces was killed and two others were wounded.

Well that was fast.

That's Russian's putting up their signage on the council building hours after the vote.

Sourcing on the lettering puts it being created prior to the occupation.

So much for "peace-keeping"

Ya that is a picture of them dismantling the Current lettering so of course the letters were made before the occupation.

Ya im not sure I follow. It doesn't invalidate anything. Especially given the fact that they aren't putting anything up.

Did you bother clicking that link to see how your assumption of "They made those letters in advance!" is incorrect? Or are you just talking out your ***?

Fantasy
Hey guys look a random picture with no context! I assume it means this! See RCD you were so wrong!.

Reality
Hey guys I googled this image it took me to a page in 2 seconds that explained what was happening in the picture, so i didn't have to make an incorrect assumption!

It's you who has been and probably will continue to stay in fantasy land.

That is a photo of the sign being changed from one to the other. They removed lettering, and then put up new lettering.

Thank you for proving my point.

Did they put up new lettering? Haven't seen anything regarding putting anything up. Other than your assumption that they did. Only thing I have seen is them taking down lettering. Thats it. I am sure you have a source for that right, If you do by all means link it. Otherwise you have linked to a picture with no context, and are assuming something that doesn't have any support anywhere.

You do have supporting evidence to them putting up new lettering right? Or are we supposed to accept speculation as fact now.

If you got the sauce lets see it.

I couldn't tell you if that was Ukrainian letters, Russian letters, or gibberish however. Smiley: lol

Ya I think thats the sign they just took down. I could be wrong TLW seems to have information on the subject that doesn't exist anywhere in US, Europe, Russia or Middle East presently, so gotta wait for him to provide it.

Meh, it said said it was a "new" sign, and it came off the live feed like an hour ago. I suppose there's not a date stamp on the photo or anything, but the sign could also read "free monkeys inside!" for all I know, so let's take that for what it's worth.

I did not expect that.

I was sure the standoff would be a spark. Instead, there was just a surrender.

So... how far west Russia will move now ( because, you know, Russians everywhere have to be protected )?
