Thank God.

It kind of snuck up on me. I suppose that's a good thing.

I have to do some basement cleaning this weekend as the broken furnace and it's subsequent repair made some oily mess. I'm also going to go snowshowing.

Lastly, for dinner tonight want to make something fun and really tasty that will go well with candles and wine and seduction. Any suggestions?

Not my area of expertise, can't let that hold one back though. Vote is for something light and pasta, something easy to make so you save energy for the more important things. Smiley: thumbsup

Saturday is the Seahawks game. I'm already on the edge of my seat. Having to leave at 7am to meet up with the rest of the group isn't going to be the highlight, but I'll take it nonetheless. Bonus is that I don't have to drive at all, which will be nice since the weather is going to be crappy and such.

Gonna go scream myself hoarse. Smiley: nod

Working from home is so weird. I lose all sense of what day it is.

I also have no problem starting on time, but I have to remind myself when to stop.

Anyway - getting together with friends tomorrow evening, no other plans. Still setting up my new place, so there's always that to fill up some time. And piles of laundry, yay.

Re: dinner, you can't go far wrong with pasta.

Fun and tasty? Chicken breast roll up.

You pound the chicken flat between two pieces of cling wrap, then fill it with goodies and roll it up. One easy yummy is mixing honey with stone ground mustard. Or you can do any variation of pesto, bacon and cheeses for a cordon bleu, etc.

We're going to a gastropub that opened pretty recently in town called Catch 22. I ate there last week with a coworker and had a Thanksgiving sandwich. Sooooo good. Smiley: drool

Other than that, it's just goofing off and platelets for me this weekend.

Today, I get to go to the doctor! Then the man and I are going out to eat for dinner tonight. Tomorrow, we'll be going to Blue Springs State Park to see the manatee. Sunday I have to work.

Flea's doing some gluten-free thing. You know what makes shitty pasta? Everything except wheat.

Congratulations on the new place (assuming this is a good move and you weren't evicted into a woman's shelter or something). No big plans on the horizon here except to de-Christmas the house. Should have done it earlier except I had no interest in opening the attic crawlspace when it was -15F outside.

Pasta is a good idea. I got some fancy noodles for x-mas. I also have some heavy cream to use up so I'm thinking maybe an Alfredo sauce thing - maybe add some lobster.

Anyone doing the ESO beta this weekend?

I got a new home (big money saver, yay!) which I'm moving in to officially on wednesday, moving over almost all of my stuff this weekend though so my weekend will be filled with hating my collection of books and other stuff by packing them into boxes, moving them into a van and then out of a van again while swearing at how bloody much a big box full of paper weighs.

It'll be a busy weekend for sure.

Yeah, I ended up divesting myself of a huge amount of stuff rather than moving it. Goodwill and St. Vincent made out like bandits, and I got rid of some really ridiculous old clothes and a lot of books.

I'll be throwing out some old stuff but I moved only 8 months ago as well so I don't have much left that I don't want to keep. It's mainly just books and clothes though, I don't have too much furniture since I've rented furnished apartments for the last 4 years.

I moved a lot as a young person and would end up giving away most of my books each time. I came to regret that when my kids were of an age to start reading similar stuff. I didn't even manage to keep my boxed LotR set together, but did keep my original Hobbit book.

Record albums, too, I gave away to anyone with the least bit of interest.

I kept very few paper books and physical music media this time. I did move a few boxes of CDs and DVDs, mostly movies. So much of my stuff is digital now, it made it easy to toss out the approximately 3298753987 paperbacks I'll never read again.

I kept many hardcover books and everything with special meaning to me. A lot of poetry. For some reason poetry doesn't read the same on a Kindle.

Comic books too.

I bought one electronic comic book back when they first started making them for the colored readers. It wasn't the same.

African American readers, you racist. I agree that it's not the same, but I've read probably 1000 comics I would never have bothered finding in physical form. It's definitely good enough (on a 9 inch or larger screen).

gratz on the new place!
I'm a steak gal, so steak goes well with wine and candles. Carbs suck (can't eat carbs either Smiley: frown )
I'm taking advantage of my moms close living and shipping the boys there for the weekend. Which is a good thing because two of my friends are on the verge of splitting up and I'm playing psychologist in the middle. Expecting late night phone calls from each side. Yay.

I'm also planning on going through some of our household stuff and figuring out what can be dumped, packed, or needs to stay out for a few more weeks. We found out yesterday that we're closing on our house on Feb 28, wheee!

It's warmed up so I'm going on a Cross Country ski outing to a hilly area near me. Should be a good outing.

My scheduled 1 hour early day is today, and I have monday off, so this will be a longish weekend for me. Not much planned on account of the 18 feet of rain they are forecasting. I'll probably play around with fitting tthe other half of my printer upgrade, and maybe work on the oft delayed CNC if it warms up enough to enter the garage without instantly freezing to death.

Congo rats on new houses Samira and Aethien!

Tomorrow afternoon is the semi-annual "decathlon" with my coworkers. We get together at a bar or somebody's house and play drinking games all afternoon, and the winning team gets to keep the Red Solo Cup of Victory at their desk until the next event.

Then probably some laundry and grocery shopping. Assuming I'm not to ********* to see straight.
