"Freedom of speech" even as a general concept, does not include freedom from any consequences for your speech.

Having never watched the show, I couldn't tell you what demographic they're shooting for but the channel itself and its parent company are probably going for a broader base than DD itself.

No, you're still free to speak. Your employer is free to fire you for your speech. The government can't punish you for your speech. That's the "freedom" part.

On the plus side the "anti gay agenda" speaking/book circuit is still quite lucrative. Well, maybe not in your town...or mine, but many places in the middle of the country that no one really cares about!

If a bunch of Polacks got mad about it and raised a fuss sufficent to get Kimmel fired, then that's fine. If they didn't give a shit, that's fine as well.
