China and U.S. playing chicken at sea while everyone else waits to see if they'll fight over what's left of the N. Korea. Anyway that's not what this is about. Here's what the issue really is.
Quote:
The incident last Friday, which was resolved peacefully, was the latest sign of tension around recent and aggressive Chinese territorial claims in the region involving international waters and expanded airspace.
Vice President Joe Biden last week pressed Beijing over the issue, which stems from a longstanding dispute with Japan that has grown tenser.
Several U.S. military officials confirmed details of the incident on the high seas involving the USS Cowpens, which has just come to light.

Seriously?
Who names a ship that? Have we simply used all the good names and this is what we're left with? Maybe it is time for a military downsizing if this is a problem. Or is it names after someone or something? Because, it's great to honor people and what not, but that's even more disturbing if there was an Admiral Cowpens at one point.
ETA: Okay, it was a battle. Point still stands...
Anyway I suppose as long as China doesn't sink the USS Chickencoup we'll be fine... Okay, I'm done now.
