I chuckled. Some Brits were asked to label the US. Actually I thought they did pretty good.

HERE

I like the last one where Maine becomes Steven King Country and the entire Midwest is simply Chicago. Makes good sense.

Everyone seems to know Texas - which is a bit troublesome.

Under South Dakota is: Further South Dakota, who cares, nobody cares, farmland, no idea...

Sounds about right.

Edit: The reverse one is pretty funny too. Smiley: lol

I wouldn't have a clue on the UK, but I could probably get 50%+ on USA.

England, Upper Ireland, Scotland, Welshland... I'm sure random chance would let me put at least 50% in the right place.

I don't even know if UK has counties or provinces or whatever. And I could place London on a map, but not Birmingham, Manchester, etc. So, these attempts looked pretty good to me.

I think the real question should be, would most Americans do any better?

I would start on the east coast and get bored by West Virginia and start making stuff up. Montana would probably be "thar be dragons."

What gets me is that pretty much everyone knew Oregon and Washington as well as California and New York. Even I know where Washington is!

We don't have to know the states cuz, you know, "merica, helyaz!"

On that buzzfeed page though, there's a link to the same deal with American's naming Euro countries.

I'd do pretty good for the states, except Wyoming always fucks me up. Where the hell is Wyoming?

Europe, not so much; I too fall prey to the confusion of Eastern Europe.

West of New York, East of the Pacific. South of Canada and North of Mexico.

I think id make out ok...geography has always been one of my strong points...about the only place I don't feel comfortable dropping names onto a map is Central America, too many small nations that don't do much.

When I took a Latin American history course, I was a little surprised at how much of the Central American/Caribbean region I knew... and how much of that knowledge came from playing Sid Meiers' Pirates!

I was impressed that so many had Rhode Island correct. I mean, I've met all sorts of people in the US who don't even know RI is a state, never mind where it is.

Europa taught me much of euro geography. I know, lets add these games to high-school curricula!

That was one of my first forays into computer gaming. On my sister's grayscale Mac LCII. Without the copyright protection, so I started out in a leaky bathtub and a syphilitic goat as my crew.

I'd have had no problem, US geography is pretty damned easy.

Nebraska should totally be changed to Middleshire though
