I started watching it about the time of the third doctor. He was mean. Had he stayed I'd probably not have continued being a fan (though my older sister left me little choice). Tom Baker was much improved, but I liked the next guy, Peter Davison, even better. I suppose he remains my fav.

I haven't seen any of the Classic Who doctors. I'm still in the David Tenant stint of the reboot.

I wish 9 had a longer stay. He was so sassy. Smiley: frown

Initially it was 9, as that was my first Doctor. That is, until I watched 11 for a bit, he was awesome and I'm sad to see him go so soon.

Tom Baker was my childhood doctor, and so the defining doctor for me. But the new reboot doctors have all had elements of Baker's manicness, and I've loved that. They've been made even better by some very critical scriptwriting critiquing the behavior of the original doctors, making the stories more realistic and adult.

A thousand times my all time favorite Dr moment was between the 9th doctor and Rose partly because it's the one script moment that literally defines Dr Who, and what he is:

Rose as The Heart of the Tardis: "I can see everything, all that was, all that is, all that will ever be."
The Dr: "That's what I see. All the time. Doesn't it drive you mad?"

Favorite Doctor is such a loaded question...

They're all the same Doctor, with different faces. And, according to the Banter between Smith & Tennant, different sized *****'. Now least favorite? Pertwee. Not that I though he was bad, but more so having to do with the whole plot revolving around him being exiled on earth & working for UNIT.

Eccelstein would be my next least favorite & again not because of his performance as 9, but mostly because he wouldn't do the 50th. Jerk.

Tom Baker by a country mile. I also really like Matt Smith, but as Ari mentioned, he's been helped out by really strong material to work with.
