Giant fires in Australia, typhoon in the Phillipines and now dozens of tornadoes in the midwest of he US. Kick it up a notch and maybe add a volcano or two to get a disaster movie.

I don't live in the affected area, but am currently working there. Just a couple miles north of the hotel I'm staying at a small town was demolished. Brookport, Illinois, just across the river from me right now. The local news is saying 2 or 3 people died, more injured.

I was at Kentucky dam when the tornado hit by the hotel. I left the hotel about 15 minutes before the tornadoes went through. We stayed at the Kentucky dam until the storm passed, had to take shelter in the bathroom there as the tail end of it dumped rain on us. High winds. We listened to the tornado sirens going off across the river. The north side was dark as the storm passed over the city in the distance, the south side was sunny and bright. The city we were staying at was in the middle of it and the high way back to the city was also. So we had little choice but to wait it out at the dam.

We had one touch down south of us but it was far enough that we weren't in any danger (but close enough to make Flea worry).

Do NOT give St. helens any ideas. if it erupts now it's totally your fault.

I was thinking more of having Iceland explode and creating a couple new islands in the pacific.

Talked to the contractors working with us and they stayed at the hotel. They said they could see the tornado that hit brookport from their windows.

Well, I haven't seen anyone here expressing surprise at the tornadoes.

There was one that touched down in Wilmington, IL but that's realistically about 10-15 miles from us. Looks closer when looking at the map on the news alert though. But it was cruisin' off to Tinley Park so it wasn't our problem any more. Nothing against Tinley Park. Although I did once go on a date with a girl from Tinley Park and she was a real *****. But I don't think that's reason to wish natural disasters to fall on Tinley Park some 15 years later.

He pulled his finger out of the hole in the **** in order to post on Zam causing the dam to bust open, water levels to rise then fall then rise again, the gulf stream changed directions, the northerly winds stopped blowing all together creating a weather vacuum, the clouds didn't know which way to turn so just spun about in circles, like flushing the toilet the volcano god's morning shower turned scalding hot - uh, yeah, it was pissed.
