Two whole years, huh.

Sure, but threatening to take down a commercial airplane on a public forum is pretty stupid

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Yeah, yeah. It's not a threat, it's clearly not illegal. It is a bit over the top however to wish a national disaster on a major metropolitan airport because your ball team lost a game.

My hair cutting lady keeps posting "Orteez Me" on her fb feed

Just noticed this part. Why? Why the fuck would you friend your hair cutting lady on Facebook? I clearly really don't grasp the point of the Facebooks in the manner most people use it.

I guess you could label it a sort of LinkedIn for unprofessionals.

Not that I care for LinkedIn any better, but at least it serves a purpose.

Does it? I don't know anyone who uses LinkedIn to any useful effect. I've never set up a thing. I'm trying to imagine what I'd ever actually use it for aside from randomly stalking strangers out of curiosity.

Yeah, I think you have it twisted. No-one uses ******* LinkedIn; I know a couple of people who made a page out of some misguided sense of obligation only to never, ever use it. Facebook is legitimately useful every now and then - not irreplaceable, but useful.

I've used LinkedIn to see where some former co-workers landed after my old company collapsed but I doubt "idle curiosity and gossip" counts as 'useful effect'.

There are certainly positions and people that use linkedin, but it's fairly useless for most people.

There's apparently a bit of our protein science-like community that uses it, at least enough for a group to have some kind of meaningful back and forth. I was thinking I should check it out at some point, but I don't participate enough in the proteomics message boards/etc I'm already part of, adding another to the list is a questionable idea at best.
