We already have espionage powers for the most part I guess. If one should want a megaton of digital tracking data it's there for the taking or buying.

Are there enough checks?

No.

Why not

No money in it. That's really, in all honesty, the reason. No one cares enough to pay for privacy. If you want to blame someone, blame consumers.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I suppose you are right. People did not even care when experian sold their to evil-doers.

Most shrugged it off and watched cool experian ad on TV, Oh look, they care about protecting the data.

.People do care, but it seems they can't seem to connect the dots, and it does not seem to hurt them as much. Or so they think anyway.
