Oh, Florida. Follow

So we're here. We've bought a car and moved into an apartment. The pool is nice, at least.

Now we wait for our stuffs to get here. Right now it's on a barge in the middle of the Pacific. Maybe it's on a truck moving cross country by now, I hope so. I miss my bed.

Found out that my husband's insurance won't kick in until January 1st after his probationary period, so there's that. Being a "full-time" student at an online program sucks.

Apparently it's "Biketober" right now and a bunch of bikers have descended upon Daytona Beach. I'm glad we got out of there just in time for that.

Remember that Florida is a lot like an elephant graveyard for old people, so it's perfectly natural to kill a few. In fact, it's encouraged.

Might even push the voting to the left a bit so the rest of the country won't have to wait for Florida so much.

Trip the old people, laugh when they fall down, speed away on your bike before they can get up.

What's not to love?

If you can find an old black dude in a hoodie, that's like winning the Florida lottery.

Literally. The grand prize in the FL lottery is they let you murder an old black dude.

Husband said that if he had his way, we'd move to Guam next. I told him he could go ahead, I'd forward the divorce papers.

In all honesty, we'll probably stay here for a few years. Two big moves in as many years is enough to last us for a while.

We saw Embry Riddle, but didn't realize it was an Aeronautical university. Maybe I'll take a few lessons, learn to fly a helicopter, and start giving tours over the Everglades.

What? Stranger things have happened....

Their helicopter course offerings are usually a bit mroe expensive than just taking lessons from a dedicated helicopter company. They mainly specialize in commercial aviation pilot licenses, that and engineers and security and intel people. also airplane mechanics, airport managers, NTSB crash investigators, and for some reason english majors.

If you get a helicopter license I call dibs on a helicopter ride!

At least you can still trade for them if you have anything good nearby. I have to rely on tourists bringing some to the Netherlands (guess how much that happens...).

Would I get charged for punching a zombie in the face or do the actors sign a waiver allowing me to do that?

I think you misunderstand the type of bikes she means. If I'm wrong, I apologize. Not saying motorcycles aren't cool, I like them, I just know you like bicycles.

Apparently we are headed to Biketober fest tonight, so I'll let you know how it is... And if I think I won't get beat up, I'll take a picture or two.
