Chicago Tribune wrote:
A woman suspected of being involved in a car chase across central Washington was shot and killed by police outside the U.S. Capitol building this afternoon.

The incident, which sparked a lockdown of Congress, began when the woman tried to ram through security barricades outside the White House.

An official said a Capitol policeman was injured when the car driven by the suspect crashed outside the Capitol.

The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate were in session when gunshots were heard.

A source familiar with the situation said the incident started when a vehicle struck a security barrier at 15th and Pennsylvania avenue, near the White House. Police chased the vehicle for about 1 1/2 miles to 2nd Street and Constitution Avenue, near the Capitol, where the shots were fired.

Who knows if it has anything at all to do with government or just some lunatic who decided ramming the White House was a good response to a child custody suit.

Edit: Other source said "gates" and I typed it out of title length concerns. Tribune says barriers. I'm sure every detail of this story that comes out today will be wrong as per usual.

She wouldn't have been killed if she only had a gun of her own.

If she was allowed to own a tank, she wouldn't have been stopped by silly gates.

I guess the Secret Service refers to any attempt to breach the perimeter a "gate crasher", hence part of the confusion.

Oh they do, they're all facebook games though. This is what happens when you furlough government workers; when they can't come to work things don't get done. No one waters the corn, crops die, panic ensues.

Farmville is life. Smiley: schooled

I remember something about there being a child in the car? Mebbe the violent game was for it?

Would someone think of the children? *wrings hands*

I guess it wasn't what all the right wingers have been craving for: raving lunatic trying to destroy the government ( one car at a time ).

Just a pissed off driver who didn't take **** from random cops in the way.

I kinda like the car btw.

Probably was showing up for work expecting the gates to open for her as she drove up common mistake, people hit gates and those little arms all the time, Government probably had to cut funding for the guy who opens it anyway.

That or someone was severely upset about GTA Online having a bumpy start and decided why not just do it for real.

When I heard the preliminary reports of gunshots at the Capitol on the news, my first reaction was to run through town yelling "Vive la révolution!" In retrospect I'm glad I was on the highway and heard some more accurate details before I got to my exit.
