When Appeasement Fails: Make a Friday ThreadFollow

I need to use up some vacation time, so I won't be heading back to work until after Labor day. I'm not at what point my idea of an ideal vacation shifted away from traveling to some far off locale to staying the hell home and being left alone for awhile, but at least it's cheaper. Plans for the week include FFXIV:ARR, catching up on some reading, and visiting the local renaissance festival. A guy I work with is an actor there and hooked me up with cheap tickets.

Beards are itchy. If necessary though, I can grow a full beard if I go about 2 days without shaving, on account of I grow hair stupidly fast for some reason.

I've got a fair to go to this weekend; the Dutchess County Fair is about ten minutes (non-fair days) form my house. Except, on fair days, the seven mile trip takes about two hours, with another hour for parking and hiking to the actual fairgrounds.

That particular print came unstuck from the bed about 3/4 of the way through, which was entirely my fault because I didn't do the initial preparation things to keep it from doing that, and I reset the heated bed to 60 degrees in the middle of the print instead of the 100c it was supposed to stay until the end. After that, to improve the print quality and prevent things from coming unstuck, i upgraded the main bearing frame and the pulleys, which required a bit of modification. I finished that up and had just started recalibration of the print bed, Then I got a massive unexpected migraine and I haven't touched the printer since. This is the first time in the last 8 hours or so I've been able to read text.

Tomorrow I'll print the rest of the remaining upgrade parts, then more thingies! but for now no, I don't have a finished picture.

It's a schooner!

Yup! currently they require additions of certain components, such as controllers and servos and metal bits. Luckily my CNC can theoretically make most of those parts for the 3d printer! it's a symbiotic robotic relationship of death, which will doom all mankind eventually!

Luckily, a plastic robot army is rather susceptible to fire. We'll fight them with Molotov cocktails and home made flamethrowers!

All we would really need is one giant orbital magnifying glass

That article had nothing to do with the **** occult zombie experiments. I realize that, in itself, has nothing to do with giant orbital magnifying glasses, but zombies are more interesting.

Those were Prussian steampunk zombies or something. Wasn't that scene set in WWI? Trench warfare, biplanes, etc?

Sucker Punch was a turn your brain off movie, so it could have very well been **** Prussian Confederate Steampunk Zombies.

I liked Sucker Punch more than I thought I would based on the reactions when it came out. Pretty girls aside, the action stuff was entertaining as a sort of live-action cartoon. The first big fight with the three giant samurai guys is still my favorite sequence.

A lot of it is absolutely stupid but for a stupid movie it does pretty well.
