Linky.

Let's pretend your minding your own business, waiting for public transportation to arrive, when the unthinkable happens: You notice someone jacking (or in this case "jilling") off. You have a cell phone that records video. WHAT DO YOU DO!?!!?

What Do You Do?
Watch. :1 (6.2%)
Pretend not to watch, but watch as much as possible without getting caught. :5 (31.2%)
Film it. :1 (6.2%)
Film it & put it on the internet. :9 (56.2%)

Is that really all that unusual?

It was when it wasn't happening during a frat party.

Geez that was a close one for someone. I thought this was another one of the persistant thread spammer threads and almost sent it to hell. Cuban missile crisis type **** here. Of course there is technically an undo button (sort of if you ignore that whole karma thing), but it;s more fun to make like it was almost game over for some unlucky topic poster before the last minute save!

I don't know exactly how privacy laws work 'round there, but I'm assuming they're at least vaguely similar to here. And filming someone inside of their house without their consent, regardless of what they are doing, is a breach of privacy.

So it's just really stupid to film someone inside their own home, you're opening yourself to a potentially very expensive lawsuit.

At first glance, it might sound crazy, but then again, recording yourself getting it on with someone without their knowledge can RUIN someone's reputation. I'm all for the law. In public areas, not so much.

I get a funny feeling that had the genders been reversed the actions taken against the involved individuals would have been very different - which is sad.

Though maybe I'm wrong. Maybe some guy jacking off in his apt in front of a window would be viewed as a victim when his actions were unknowingly recorded. But I doubt it.

I don't have a recording device tethered to me so I'd not have recorded it. But I might have watched. Smiley: blush

From the forum copy/pastes I read about it, a woman saw a man in his house ************* She thought he was ************ while watching her children outside. She called the authorities and the man got charged with public indecency or something along those lines.

Now, when I was on the jury of a trial of man accused of exposing himself to women on a public beach, I'm pretty sure they said that (at least here in Michigan) the laws don't really care where you are exposing yourself, just that you do so in a way that is obviously or likely to be seen by the public. So if you were in a room completely nude, but the windows or door were open or uncovered, and people outside could see you, it'd be a violation.

But then again, it's not against the law to take pictures or record people in public areas, cause there is no expectation of privacy or something like that (isn't that how the Girls Gone Wild guy got away with it?) So if being exposed in a 'private' setting that is publicly visible is enough for an indecency charge, why would being in a 'private' area that is publicly visible not fall under the same lack of expectation of privacy?

Edit:
Oh, when I was a junior in college my dormitory overlooked the freshman girls' dormitory. That was a fun year. You'd be surprised how much stuff people do with their windows wide open... I never recorded any of it though.

The question posed in the OP was gender neutral.
