There's already government cheese. It's just so poorly marketed.

Our privacy lies in obscurity. Angry guy you're personal digital information is flowing right through the virtual sieve that big brother uses to snag terrirists, evil drs, gun-smugglers. take comfort in the fact that you're just not interesting or important enough to be 'tracked'.

Yeah, unless you're Japanese or a commie you'll be fine.

To be fair, we did a terrible job of tracking Commies. Which is why we had to lie about them and brow-beat people into "admitting" to communist sympathies. Had we been able to actually locate some real commies, we'd have been golden.

Alright, but this is the last one.
Quote:
Secundo, naive assumption that "think of the children" method will not apply to anything but trrists, guns smuglers and evil pplz is just that, naive. The entirety of human existence thus far proved that power will do what it can to obtain more power. If you take comfort in knowing that you are not tracked because you are not interesting enough, then you obviously never met a really nosy person. It does not take much. And if you think it won't be abused by the people with access, take comfort knowing that there are people as smart as Snowden who simply chose not to cash in their chips yet.
It would be surprising, no, it would be unbelievable to think that some innocent people wouldn't get mistakenly 'caught' through this particular surveillance program. Probably even innocent Americans. Still, there is little to NO real evidence of abuse of power. Only paranoia borne from ignorance.

Secundo, I don't think many would agree with you that Snowden was at all smart with his little slice of Secret pie.

Seriously, guy should have run away someplace better. What's with this Hong Kong to Russia business? Sounds like it was pretty poorly planned. It's going to be cold there soon and he'll be wishing he'd started by going to Ecuador or something.

It sounded at the time like he thought he was going to wind up in Iceland with his WikiLeaks buddies. Which would be cold but a higher standard of living than some government flat in Russia.

#38angrymnk, Posted: Aug 13 2013 at 4:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ahh, I see. I was clearly mistaken. It is not that you are naive, stupid; or even that you can't read, or comprehend. You are complacent. That's cool. I know apathy is all the rage these days. That and cynicism, but I digress.

I was going to strive for apathy, but I decided I just didn't care enough.

Also, if I did achieve apathy, I am sure that the man would just use it against me!
