Post your scores!

I think I topped out at 15,478. Lucked out and got a view from the bridge to the main beach in Ogunquit, Maine - my family used to vacation there every summer. I hit it to within 36 feet.

Screenshot

Hit all the rest to the country within a few hundred miles or so, except for one that I guessed was Iceland which turned out to be Sweden.

I missed the country almost every single time, except when I got Finland right.

"Barren road with a few generic shrubs and no visible signage" is the bane of my existence. As a guy on my twitter feed put it:

First run 9994. I got one that was on a bridge with no distinct landmarks or readables and one in the middle of Saskatchewan. :(

Second run: 14198. It's amazing how well a person can guess a general region by architecture / flora alone.

12,122 points. Got lucky with rounds 2 and 3, they gave me locations with the names posted on lamp pole signs and the sides of trucks. Smiley: lol

I gave up after I got a scene that was nothing more than a dirt road out in the woods. It turned out to be in Australia. How the hell I was supposed to know that from a dirt road I have no idea.

Getting one in Russia can be pretty rough. You can get the country right, and still miss the location by like 1,092,151 km.

10969. Got a couple with very few clues.

I nailed British Colombia and Japan, but mistook Uruguay for Mexico.

Paraguay looks like every other place on Earth. I'd see deciduous trees and a paved road and guess Midwestern US... nope, Paraguay. See scrub desert and guess Australia... nope, Paraguay. Etc, etc.

I ended up with 10141, but I also didn't realize I could zoom in the mini map until the last one, so I kept ending up only getting it in the right continent. Except the time I mistook a blurry Australian license plate for a blurry Colorado license plate and guessed it was in California based on the foliage. And the time with the no signs and such that also ended up being Australia.

Got really close with the one in Germany, though, since that one I had figured out the zoom and recognized German words on the shop signs, which coupled with luck and put me within a few miles.

Third (best) attempt

Frustrating when you recognise Japanese or Korean signs, but the location is an obscure island miles from the mainland.

That's pretty addictive.

Damn, good one. The one off of Korea was Okinawa, Japan - did you have the poor luck of having a location dominated with Korean writing there?

Come to think of it, I bet one could get really screwed over by getting one in, say, Chinatown. Smiley: lol

I had a road sign along a fallow field saying Marseilles was just off the next exit.

They meant Marseilles, South Africa Smiley: mad

Been following them on twitter to see what updates they roll out:

- "Challenge mode" allowing players to challenge each other using the same locations

Also thought this one from a few days ago was pretty funny:

I didn't realize you could zoom in on the map you use to guess, so I thought I was pretty decent for being within 3000km of a site. Smiley: lol

This is pretty cool. My first attempt left me on a highway that was in a pretty desolate area. I came to a sign saying 1043km's to Alice Springs - and I was facing E-NE. If I'd had a clue about where Alice Springs was in AU, I could have nailed that one. As it was I didn't do too bad.

My guesses about 'where' I was, went downhill from there, but I had some fun cruising around a little rural town in NZ (Paua Farm Tours this weekend!).
