Two things I love. The 80's and Jennifer Nettles.

Also, the song title is the punch line to an old joke. "What's worse than spit on Olivia Newton John?"

You may remember these guys from Old School & The Hangover.

The Dan Band: Total Eclipse of the Heart (NSFW, Lyrics)

I heard an interview with that guy on the local radio in Buffalo once. IIRC, he said that he got "discovered" during a karaoke session - his friends had dragged him out for karaoke, so as a mild form of protest he did his schtick, and subsequently got noticed by a producer somewhere.

I'll give them credit just for not having someone with a bass doing the "bum bum" thing. Leaving that out alone makes it different than most covers of the song.

She doesn't do anything new with it besides just sing it but I enjoy Chrissie Hynde covering Creep:

I'm a fan of some of Staind's covers.

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd originally

Sober by Tool

Disturbed covers are usually good (and two were mentioned upthread, "Shout 2000" and "Land of Confusion" ) They also do a decent U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"

Sort of a cover live Temple of the Dog cover with Chris Cornell and Chester Bennigton signing This is live and the crowd goes nuts when Chester starts singing.

Dunno if this counts but Fear Factory covering Cars with Gary Numan on the synth was kinda cool when I was youngerhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lERqGULWxs&playnext=1&list=PLBE99C9E3969F22FF

ETA: And this is hilarious if you're a fan of MUSE. They do this quite a bit on tv spots but I find it funny. Drunk Feeling Good my MUSE. They're awesome when they get stuck doing performances on international TV shows though where the band members just don't give a sh*t and will start playing different instruments to pre-recorded crap on Talk shows like this Where the singer is on drums, the bassist on guitar and the drummer is on bass. The talk show hosts don't even realize it and interview the wrong guy at the end lol. Trolling on national TV. The host doesn't even realize she's talking to to wrong person in the little post-song interview. It's (to me anyways) hilarious. She's talking to the drummer as if he were to lead guitar singer. after the song.

I clicked one link, and it was the Cars cover and it reminded me just how much I hate synth rock.
