But felons *are* productive members of society while incarcerated. They're providing jobs, and revenue for the for-profit prison industry.

And making license plates.

(Do they still do that in prison...?)
Our prisoners have a nice woodworking shop. They make foot stools, chairs, chests, clocks, etc. Their products are actually in good demand as they're quality handmade wood items that don't cost much.

Nothing rehabilitates like slave labor.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

It's useful to the company that owns the prison though.

Almost. In my case, it's deadly accurate.

But does it include plebian?

They've already learned a useful skills like shooting people, using gov't resources, ruining infrastructure, and a persistent inability to reintegrate with society.

That's why I recommended a work for welfare program in the trade they've been preparing for; the army.

Giving our felons war toys might look bad to the neighbors.

So..for those who think felons (past their parole) should not be able to vote:

No income taxes, right?

Because taxation without representation is reprehensible.......right?

Depends if I can get out of paying income tax if the people I voted for don't win.

Felon A isn't the same as Felon B either, but no one feels the need to get into specifics so why should I?

With that moron Paul Broun as my representative, the Feds ought to be paying me to put up with him.

Good points, but I don't think the average criminal is a big enough coward to be in the army.

I don't know who you're being sarcastic towards; but yes. And humans at any age can earn enough to be taxed. Even 13-year olds in summer + weekend jobs plus a paper route may have to file taxes.

The other or rather newer voting rights revolution is of course related to being in combat. Voting age was lowered to 18 since 18-year olds could be conscripted without their consent.

And of course, the logic still didn't make any sense, since an 18-year old would've had to been 12 years old at the theoretical least to vote for (or against) the Senator who would eventually conscript them. It's not like 18-year olds during Vietnam suddenly could vote anew for Congressman who'd won their seats 1-6 years ago. So they had no say at all with their voting on how their lives might be wasted.

All age-based laws are, of course, utterly lazy and ridiculous and discriminatory. But even within the narrow justification of the above, the justifications are inept.
