I personally hate all the pageantry just to show commercials.

Sorry about the power outage. I rebooted both of my upstairs computers just after half time. That and shutting off the new orleans power grid for no apperent reason.

I just figured that after Beyonce's booty shaking, the massive uploads of video from cell phones caused an inverse polar reaction to the power grid which overheated the system. Naturally after 20 minutes of confusion they found the first IT guy available who replied "Have you tried turning the system off and back on again?"

Obviously you saw the result.

The half-time dance was pretty fun to watch. I predict that Beyonce's psyche will never recover and she'll end up wackier than Jacko.

It was nice that she allowed Destinies Child to get their 36.5 seconds in the spot light.

They should have listened to Samuel L. Jackson.

As a male, I found Beyonce's show rather ***** inducing. As a responsible citizen, I didn't find it any more particularly family oriented than the JJ debacle. Beyonce is sexy as hell and she put on a good show, but with all the hip gyrating and *** pumping, I hardly think it was appropriate for the superbowl.
Good thing I'm not one of those uptight suburbanites who complains to their congressman about every potential violation of my "family values".

I turned the game on during the blackout (there's a phrase you don't hear everyday); and said something about how this power thing looks like it's more exciting than the game had been to that point. Also, no-call is good call. Too many tinfoil hats would have been put on if they threw a flag in the end zone and San Fran ended up taking the lead on a subsequent play.

I asked this on FB, but nobody responded. I noticed several plays during the last scoring drive for SanFran during which the player took the ball out of bounds, but when everybody lined up and the play clock started ticking, the game clock was ticking right along side it.

Was that a serious **** up that benefitted the Ravens, or did NFL rules change regarding game clock stoppage out of bounds? San Fran could have really used what seemed to be at least 20-30 seconds I watched tick off the clock over about 5-6 plays on that drive.

I thought the clock started once play resumed, not after the snap. But I know ******* about football so whatever.

I guess I'm more used to paying attention during the 2 minute play, in which the rules are definitely different.

I saw nothing to offend the family in her performance. Football, however, promotes brain damage.

Is there a better place to discuss pointless moral values while fantasizing about women in skimpy outfits?

If so, share plz. Smiley: flowers

There were commercials about some webpage that describes how they're making the game safer, and all I could think during them is "Why the hell would I want it safer for them?" Like Nascar, I watch it for the life altering/ending injuries/accidents.

Most of the plays I would assume you're referring to had the runner down before they went Out of bounds.

And I heard that Ray Lewis killed the lights.

Not at all, but I'm not sure if the game clock was in the last 5 minutes or not, so that may be the difference.
