No no, Joph, they're all borderline albino fairskins. A swarthy fellow like you will never understand their plight.

My wife and oldest kid are of the "don't tan, just burn" complexion. I don't really burn, I haven't used sunscreen in my adult life, really. I spend plenty of time outside, the only thing I've ever noticed was a slight burn on the exciting thinning/bald spot that's grown on the crown of my head in the last few years. So now I just wear a yamaka all the time.

I could tan when I was younger, which is odd for a dirty ginger like me. I've not really tried in the last few years though. But since all this crap has gone down with my husband, we're going to be living healthier lives. So going outside and walking is on the agenda. I know I don't get enough Vit. D, so hopefully this will help.

Tell them to power through it. That's just a healthy base layer forming.

Maybe if you get enough cancer cells on the surface of your skin, they'll block all the UV rays from hitting the healthy skin underneath.

Get them removed - it's a cosmetic and a preventative health benefit. I just started seeing a dermatologist for full-body mole checks / removal / biopsy, it's totally great.

Yeah, my daughter has had two removed now. The first one she was just a little kid - 2 o 3. It was a big mole just above her eye. She'd scratch it while sleeping - until it bled. Moles bleed a lot. All the blood freaked me out one night, and we brought her to the emergency room. The doctor cut it out right there.

The second was just a couple years ago as she was going off our insurance - she didn't like it. It was kinda on her jawbone and growing.

Both removals were covered by insurance.

The sun is a wondrous body. Like a magnificent father!

If only I could be so grossly incandescent!

That's an interesting thought. I do see a dermatologist? once a year for a full body skin check, especially now my mother has had a melanoma removed from her shoulder. I do know that if hair is growing out of a mole that is an indication that it is actually non cancerous and benign, and I should go see a doctor if the hair falls out. I don't know. past experience with various operations, including a very irritating (literally!) mole on my waist line when I was a teenager, indicates I scar up a lot.

Trim? Why would you trim them when you can pluck the hairs out instead? Keeps the hairs away a lot longer. Hairy moles are the worst.

because I can usually find the scissors before I find the tweezers.

They are like left socks I swear. Apparently there are four sets of tweezers in the house, all of which are more elusive than the sasquatch or the Tasmanian Tiger.

I can see how that might cause a problem, lol. I'm pretty good at losing stuff myself, so I try to keep everything in a consistent spot. One time I didn't leave my keys on my desk like I usually do, and it took me almost 10 minutes to find them. They were in the pocket of my coat. >.<

I can believe it - I've done that.

The keys are always supposed to be in my purse or on my computer desk. If they go anywhere else, I'll have to spend a long time hunting them down. And yeah, they're usually in a coat pocket...

Speaking of scatter brained I have a story for you. I was sitting down to eat dinner with my family about 10 years ago. I took a bite, picked up another portion with my fork, held it up a short distance from my mouth, looked around and said (no joke) "Where is my fork?". Took about 10 seconds for me to realize that it was in front of my face the entire time. I still get flack from that.

I've sat in my car, turned on the engine, then put my hand against my front pocket and thought "Oh ****, where are my keys?"
I've also taken my keys out of my pocket, put them in my right hand while also holding onto a bag, reached my car and then went back to my left pocket, again thinking "Oh ****, where are my keys?"

I always keep my keys in my front left pocket, and am paranoid I'm going to lose them. If they are ever not there, I always instantly think I left them somewhere. Even if they just happen to be in my other hand or in the ignition of my car as I'm sitting in the driver's seat ready to take off.

Not as bad as Criminy, but during my husband's surgery, my parents were sitting in the hospital lobby with me. We were discussing getting coffee. My mom said "I wish they had an ATM around here", as she was looking at the flashing lights of the ATM that was right across from the couch she was sitting on.

I will never let her live that down.

I think she needs a waiver on that one, as it demonstrates that she is the type of mother-in-law who actually loves her son-in-law.

So, we had a sunny day today, and I forced myself to go outside for ten minutes just before noon. (I walked the little cat. You ever try walking a cat? It's not for the faint of heart.)

I still say the sun wants to kill me. Smiley: glare
