Obama, Time Person of the Year!Follow

#27Palpitus1, Posted: Dec 23 2012 at 3:20 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Obiously, he sucks. No more worthy than any other of the 210 heads of state. But--other candidates?
#28Palpitus1, Posted: Dec 23 2012 at 3:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) P.S. the above post was made as if Obama actually was the Time Person of the Year, and not just a satire. Which satire is becoming very hard to distinguish from reality.

Right, because there was no trading of access for money by Democrats this election cycle... Don't be so crushingly naive. It makes the rest of us look bad.

Yeah, but Romney was on a whole separate level and everyone knows it.

Obama actually received more donations from high income Americans.

Thanks for the link - quite fascinating. I wonder what the differential between "large" and "small" is - it doesn't say. A hundred dollars? A thousand dollars?

Not to argue with the idea that Obama received a lot of large donor dollars or make him out to be "better", but much of Romney's money went through super PACs rather than his campaign. All those summer-fall reports you'd hear of Romney "out raising" Obama, Romney never beat him campaign-to-campaign, it was always the total of campaigns plus PACs plus party committees. Just looking at campaign contributions doesn't show the whole story.

I wonder what the story was on the $5,000 Obama self-financed his campaign with. Registration fees or something?

Obama also raised more money overall than Romney. His share of donations from small contributions was larger.

I bet he doesn't even own his own time machine. It's probably just a cheap rental knock off.

I believe that the maximum you can donate directly to a campaign as an individual is $5,000 or so. Half in the primary, half in the general. Any more money has to go through PACs or to the party itself.

That was all the change he had in his pocket at the time, probably didn't feel like hitting an ATM for more.
