I signed up for Amazon Prime to get a shipment a little faster during a free 30 day trial. I forgot to cancel it, and ended up with Prime for a year. I started looking around on what was available to stream on the PS3 (and was more than a little disappointed at the selection) and I found ALF. It had been forever since I'd watched it, so I thought I'd watch the first episode and see if it was as awesome as I had remembered.

It wasn't.

A week later, I decided to add "Moonlighting" to my Netflix queue on a whim. I used to beg my mom to let me stay up and watch this show when I was a kid. I was ready to be disappointed again.

I haven't been.

Sure, it's a little old, but the dialog is still pretty sharp, and I love it when they break the fourth wall. My only problem is that it's not a "watch instantly" title, so I have to wait for the discs, and I have to intersperse them with things that my husband wants to see for some reason.

Also: What happened to Bruce Willis? If Kevin Smith can be believed, apparently he's a horror on set, and not very good at ad-libbing witty banter. That seems so unlikely while watching Moonlighting.

Amazon Prime is amazing and I love it. If you haven't seen it already, you should make sure you watch Moonrise Kingdom.

Not to defend ALF since I couldn't say how good it was, but first episodes and even first seasons are often shaky. Those sit-coms are probably better at least a couple episodes (if not a full season) in after the cast has their stride.

I did the same thing. Although I'm sure I went into my account and unchecked the box to be automatically billed after the trial. I'm mailing snow shovels all over the country to make me feel like I'm getting something for my blunder. Their viewing selection is pretty slim but I've found some stuff to watch.

Moonrise Kingdom was cute. I loved the music.

I checked into Moonrise Kingdom... but I don't want to have to pay to rent it. I'm cheap.

I am sorely disappointed in the fact that Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime are all lacking in the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer department.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were tight licensing agreements on that since it's a big holiday draw.

Since this seems to be an ongoing issue for you Belkira, have you considered torrenting the shows and movies you watch?

I saw Bobby's World was on Netflix, and got really excited. The intro was a nostalgia-fest, but when the actual episode started, I don't think I watched more than two minutes before deciding I had had enough.

No, I'm kind of stupid about that kind of thing.

I often want to go back and watch Northern Exposure - one of my favorite shows as a teen. But I'm too lazy and forgetful when it comes to Netflix and discs (I've ended up paying greatly for discs I never bothered to return) and it's never on the streaming side.

Probably. They send discs with accompanying return envelopes in the mail. We get all the cool toys in the states.

I've started watching the Sherlock series thru Amazon Prime. It's pretty good. I like the actor playing Sherlock.
