In the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 hostilities that caused and fueled The Great War, ceased - the end of the war to end all wars.

Nearly a century later we get a paid day off of work. Smiley: grin [:peacesign:]

A three day stretch of no work to which I offer you an spot to share your weekend plans.

I don't really have any plans. My father-in-law, currently residing down in Orlando, has been in the hospital all week, in and out of surgery. He got pneumonia and some viral infection in his lungs. He passed out from not enough air. Stressed out his already bad heart (he's on his third pace-maker) and ended up in ICU. He's still not really stable. My husband is overwhelmed with guilt for not being there, but is ready to jump on a plane at a moments notice if he should be needed. If the guy should kick the bucket we'll both be driving down. That's really all our household has been about the last couple days and will likely keep us pretty close to home through the long weekend (not that we had anywhere awesome to go anyways Smiley: rolleyes).

I'm going to fill my freezer up with sweet breads I think. I got cranberries and lots of old frozen bananas to use up.

I'm most definitely going to find myself a good bottle of wine for tonight. Any suggestions?

I think we're working on the kids playroom or possibly, I will be chopping up half a willow tree with an axe and a chainsaw. Mostly an axe. Our neighbors just sold the house that abuts our yard, and they tell us they have two slightly older boys. I'd like to make a good first impression on them as the guy with the giant axe.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I plan on going to war with someone. Probably the leaves in my gutters and on my lawn.

The township, tired of the hoi polloi ******** about the leafy conflagrations in my unincorporated neighborhood decided they'd do two free leaf pick-ups this season. Get 'em to the curb and some leaf vacuum truck Hoover's 'em up and takes them away. The second pick-up is this weekend. My trees still have about 50% of their leaves.

Mom moves into a new place tomorrow. Which means I drive two hours, carry a bunch of furniture up 3 flights of stairs, and then drive home. Sunday I expect to watch football and listen to the wife complain about me being tired.

Finalizing some wedding preparations, watching Skyfall if it's out (I can't remember the date), recording our podcast, watching football (critical fantasy game this week that I'm pegged to lose by a little bit).

Im going to remember by working, Here in Ontario we don't get time off work, unless you count the 11AM moment of silence observed as time off work. However the rest of the country seems to treat Remembrance day as a ****************** Ontario.

I'm going to continue to remain unemployed, which makes it the same as any other weekend. Smiley: glare

My sister did happen upon two entry-level job listings in her area I might be a candidate for (and offered me their spare bedroom if I'd like it), but it's going to require a pretty significant overhaul of my resume and cover letter. So, actually, that's what I'll be doing with my weekend. Plus, I can continue looking for jobs using her house as a home location instead. Might work out for me.

I was going to launch my suprise invasion of guatemala, but someone already called "go to war with something" and I don't want to be a copy cat. I'll probably swap the noisy fan out of my new case build with a hopefully less noisy noctua 120mm, and move the load onto my new samsung SSD that has twice the iops of the old crucial M4. after that, all the old parts from the main computer go into the secondary PC.

I might go see skyfall this weekend. maybe some dinner somewhere too. I'd work on the mill but its frigging freezing outside and the garage is an ice cube at the moment.

I've been negotiating with the leaves in my rain gutters. They've agreed that if I let them out of the gutters they'll blow away from my yard and never return.

Waving a running chainsaw in one hand makes quite the impression. Otherwise you'll just end up looking like Michael Keaton in Mr. Mom.

My uncle was born on Vet's Day. It also happens to be the day after my birthday which meant that I never had to go to school (and often no work) the day after my birthday, which means I can stay up as late as I want (getting drunk) and sleep in. If I'm lucky my amp gets delivered tomorrow, if not I'll just be plucking away on an un-amp'ed guitar all weekend.

I'm workin' night shifts all weekend, so that and WoW will probably be about all I do, though I'll be going to the local remembrance day memorial on sunday morning.

Also celebrating the fact that as of yesterday, I'm free of all debt aside from my student loans, by getting quite properly baked on my own dime for the first time in months. Feels good, man.
