Kinda fun. I got 405. The maps chosen have a lot of implicit hints that make it easy to narrow down the choices.

I thought the timer was reducing my points awarded every second, like in their news quizes, so I guessed too hastily on some.

I rushed it and only got 315 but I guess that's enough to make me president. I tried too hard to be too clever on a few (trying to remember when states were ratified rather than really looking at the layout of red/blue) which did me more harm than good.

I got 315 too. I was surprised by the 1972 election. I didn't realize McGovern had botched things so terribly.

He picked a worse VP than Palin.

Yeah, having been treated for depression is much worse than Palin.

In 1972? Doesn't surprise me that it would have been seen that way, to be honest. Plus, at the time, they didn't have Palin as a point of comparison.

Ryan turned out to be almost (but not quite) as bad as Palin, which is why the campaign effectively gagged him shortly after he was tapped. His one possible redeeming moment could have been the debate, and Biden steamrollered him. After that, he was sent out for photo op assignments and public appearances, but that's about it.

I scored 180 simply by guessing the first answer on each one.

Ryan is no where near as bad as Palin. That wench had her stupid face and garbled crap plastered everywhere.

Ryan is no Palin. Palin appeared largely incompetent. Ryan just looks young and wonkish. But his entrance failed to change the race in any appreciable way. The change to an "issues campaign" never happened, the landslide effect of his budget in states like Florida never happened and Ryan hasn't exactly captured the nation's heart with his charisma and campaign skills.

For all the effect Ryan's had on the race, Romney should have gone with Portman for the potential Ohio bump.

Ryan was like the kid who cannonballs into a pool and loses his shorts. Decent initial splash, a few waves but then a lot of nothing as he loses everyone's attention trying to find his swim gear without anyone noticing.

He's disingenuous. I have a whole slew of cousins aunts, uncles, etc from Janesville WI. They come in various political colors, however, none of them think highly of Ryan. In fact, the story i heard is that Ryan's own extended family doesn't think very highly of him - something about ******** over the family business.

I knew a guy whose girlfriend's cousin's sister-in-law once saw Paul Ryan from a distance, and she said he totally wasn't all that and a bag of chips.

Mmmm-hmm! <finger snaps>
