Seeing as how Obama misses over half of his national security meetings (including his meeting on the day of the attack), and seeing as how Obama refused to send a Marine detachment to help after it was requested; yes, yes he is to blame. Never mind the fact that if Obama didn't start a meaningless war in North Africa in the first place, we wouldn't have to worry about this.

That's quite the trifecta of erroneous, half-assed talking points.

The mystery of where Rice got her talking points from has been solved.
Washington Post wrote:
“Talking points” prepared by the CIA on Sept. 15, the same day that Rice taped three television appearances, support her description of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate as a reaction to Arab anger about an anti-Muslim video prepared in the United States. According to the CIA account, “The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the U.S. Consulate and subsequently its annex. There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.”

The CIA document went on: “This assessment may change as additional information is collected and analyzed and as currently available information continues to be evaluated.” This may sound like self-protective boilerplate, but it reflects the analysts’ genuine problem interpreting fragments of intercepted conversation, video surveillance and source reports.

What bothers me most from this is what else has come out of the GOP witch hunt to blame Obama. Issa managed to reveal CIA operations in Benghazi during his televised hearings. Sources now say that Libyan informants working with the US are in danger due to the GOP investigations and leaks.

I think there's a very real chance that some of the administration obfuscation comes from not wanting to reveal sensitive information and, much worse, the GOP knows this and knows that Obama can't respond fully and is using this to a campaign advantage at the cost of national security.

I thought it was kill anyone we don't particularly like with unmanned drones.

I don't think having 5, 10, or 15 agents in a building would have any noticeable effect on how the people in lybia thought of the US. I'd imagine pretty much all of them know as much about the security arrangements inside the embassy as most Americans. IE: none.

Here's a questions, how many security people does Canada have in the our embassy in the states? What message are we sending with that presence?

Depends on how many bullets those 15 agents have. I'm guessing you've never heard of the alamo. Do you think the ambassador wished he had an ak while those muslims were ripping the flesh from his bones?

Wait, your posts can actually be rated down to "unrated"? I feel cheated...Smiley: frown

That must be a lot of rate downs, because most of my posts never go below sub-default and those are usually the result of one or two people intentionally post bombing me..

I guess you have a point.. When I first started, I cared about Karma to an extent that after I got bombed in RDM-melee threads, I would create an "awesome" post to balance out the rate downs. I actually lasted a really long time before being "default". I noticed after reading my old posts, people would actually go back and rate them up after the fact.

You need to get a lot of ratedowns for a single post to go to unrated.

It has a more robust gamey flavor which is nice, but the meat is kind of tough and stringy. Takes some getting used to.
