If by "going after Patraeus" you mean "Petraeus going to the Obama administration to resign after the FBI found out via his e-mail he was having an affair with his biographer" than...no, I still don't care. I get by being the head of the CIA you have to resign for having an affair as it certainly opens you up to blackmail, but from what I understand, he offered his resignation on Thursday & Obama accepted it Friday.

SO Obama at least thought about keeping him on. Also, Patraeus will probably testify about Benghazi & now that he's not CIA director, he has even more of an incentive to throw Obama under the bus & get ready for a 2016 run.

I don't think anyone's "disappearing". Gen. Allen is now in trouble for sexting the same chick that blew the whistle on Patraeus' mistress' threatening e-mails, but if you think anyone's getting Jimmy Hoffa'd over this, you're a loon.

Why do you care? If you're right you can still call him to testify, and the party will just eat itself from the inside! Smiley: tinfoilhat

Also, do we get to take bets on who goes missing next? Because that sounds like more fun than the silly March Madness things people like to do.

There is the matter of the convenient yet inexplicable report from the CIA to the white house which provided grounds for Rice's statement about how our "best intelligence" indicated that the attack was just something which grew out demonstrations over the video. That part of the whole thing has just never sat well with me. No way the CIA would generate such a report unless there was a political motivation behind it. If I were wearing a tinfoil hat, I might speculate that someone in the white house who knew about the investigation of the affair suggested to Petraeus that if the CIA were to produce a document that the white house could use as support for the spin they wished to put on the attack said investigation might just get swept under a rug.

Right, Previously you insisted there's no way such a document could exist. Now that it exists, there's no way it could exist except blackmail! Smiley: laugh

Maybe people just shouldn't give your grand pronouncements much weight or credit,

You do realize Barrack wanted Petraeus to stay, right? It much easier for the admin if they handle things like this privately. Something that is done with relative frequency.

I love the phrase "dine at the White House", though. All the conservative outlets use it.

Kelley had breakfast twice at the White House cafeteria. I'm assuming the White House cafeteria is nicer than my old high school cafeteria (I hope so, for their sake) but this isn't exactly like sitting across a dining room table from the president and eating roast pheasant off silver plates. Her third visit was a standard White House sight-seeing tour with her family.

But, yeah, "dined at the White House!" Smiley: laugh

Oh, by that standard I "dined at the White House" when I was fifteen, and my military youth group ate a picnic lunch on the lawn.
