While the histrionics of the liberal author are what I expect from that side of the philosophical and political fence, the gist of the article is that Obama has become everything and more of what the Left accused Boooooosh and Cheney of during their tenure. The boogeyman spectre of a government that does not answer to its' people, nor adheres to the values it campaigned on is at the heart of why Conor Friedersdorf does not intend to vote for Barry this time around. And, from my perspective, outside of the pearl necklace clutching sentiment of the piece, he has it pretty much nailed.

Not voting for the member of your political party because you dislike his execution of it's platform is childish and petulant. Obama's weak and easily manipulated. He also nominates very liberal SCOTUS justices, which really, is all that matters to me in a President. Particularly during this coming term.

As compared to the placid unemotional tripe you get from Limbaugh, Beck or O'Reilly?



Despite all his failures, I'm voting for Obama. I want a two-term president that won't point the country in wrong the direction.

My wife and I have increased our household income by around 30% in the past couple years. I assume everyone else who hasn't is some self-entitled leech who wants free housing, food, medical care... I'll never convince them to take personal responsibility for their lives anyway so why blame Obama?

He has a much-hyped ability to see across the aisle which has proven largely worthless. Spent the first 2 years rubber-stamping whatever the Democrats sent his way because there was no reason to compromise. Then when faced with a split congress he was largely unable to do much, as Republicans in congress weren't going to give any ground with the resurgent far-right threatening them in the primaries.

So meh. At this point the only reason I'd vote for him again is because I'm not keen on Romney. Thinking I just won't fill in that bubble or something. Anyone know a random 3rd party that would like a vote?
