Anything spicey going on this weekend?
I have a fridge full of berries and baskets of veggies to get dealt with. Already this week I've cooked up a batch of Blackberry jam and baked a couple loaves of zuccini bread.
I have GOBS of chokecherries molding in my fridge that I need to do something with, lots of basil to be harvested, jalapenos that I grew with plans to turn into jam (it seemed like a good idea last May). Maybe I'll just go wild and crazy and make some jalapeno poppers or something.
We ate some yard mushrooms last weekend and didn't die - they were quite tasty. The slugs really like them too though so we had to pick all of them to keep them from turning into slug slime - we dried them. They dried nicely and easily. Last night there was another crop of them coming in. Now that I know they are a viable food source, I am compelled to pick them and deal with them.
Sunday we're going to big city to visit the kid, bring him some needed stuff and take him and gf out to dinner.

Zoo sounds like a good idea. We haven't been there in a couple of weeks (It's one of my oldest's favorite places so we bought a membership). So letting her run around from animal to animal for a couple of hours seems like just the thing. I'm not sure what else, I should probably do some dusting though. Maybe scrub the kitchen floor. Cleaning sounds like a good use of time.

Isaac decided to introduce himself. I'll be avoiding the wet stuff most of the weekend.
I'm working this weekend, but the entire family is off Monday (like most). Still not sure what we're doing though. The plan was to hang out at the pool most of the day, but Isaac might ruin that for us. Either way, I'm sure we'll be eating out somewhere and drinking will be involved.
First UF game this weekend; means tailgating for me!
Other than that, just cleaning up the house a bit. I'm off from Wed-Mon next week for a wedding in MA, so I want the house clean when I get back.

My office is having a big grill out today, so I had a cheese stick for breakfast to balance out the caloric intake from nacho cheese burgers.

Monday: Relaxation
ETA: I didn't realize that it was last weekend of summer. Last weekend for summer for us in San Diego usually coincides with Thanksgiving. Winter is Christmas. Spring is Valentine's Day.

I'm assuming she meant the cultural summer season. Labor Day is over, kids back in school, people stop taking vacations, yadda yadda.

Yeah, pretty sure thumb was being facetious and throwing her California weather in our faces.
Cooking Cow Parts on Sunday in protest of Labor Day (actually people were busy Monday so I moved it up a day). Today is My day off too, so I get a nice long 4 day weekend. I'm going to head downtown to pick up a few more pieces of plate aluminum for the mill, possibly some new batteries for a couple of the helicopters too.
I also got a call today saying that my refinance that was Officially Denied because the USDA Rural Areas refinance program ran out of money until October, has been Officially Approved and they are sorry about the confusion. Which is good news, but now I'm even more confused. So some cautios, tentative celebration may also occur.
That and tomatoe picking. Anyone have any good ideas what to do with 800 dwarf roma tomatos?

Lots and lots of bruschetta.
No real plans aside from not drinking beer (I do have 2 left in my weekly allowance). I'm hoping to be able to catch at least one O's/Yankees game. A sweep would put the Orioles ties atop the AL East, which would be amazing.

I have a big list of work that needs to be done around that house that has been delayed thanks to unexpected travel for work. So that mostly.

Moving into our new place tonight and tomorrow morning. Shouldn't take long. Our worldly possessions consist of a TV and it's stand, a futon, and a folding table with two chairs (I hope Obama won't be sitting in one of them when we fold it up). Sunday we'll probably walk down to the burger joint and have a few drinks to celebrate the end of my hour long commute. Had Thursday and Friday off, so enjoying the hell out of a break from work. That means doing lots of organizing around the house mainly. Finally starting to get some semblance of having things put away and in place. I have some friends coming over tomorrow to bring in the couch and loveseat from the garage, which will finalize the living room. Hoping to pick up my old bed from my friends house I was staying at, that will finish the guest bedroom. Now I just have to find a good dining room table. I went shopping the other night but didn't see anything that stood out, particularly for the prices. Keeping an eye on Craigslist, might get lucky.
Oh, and got the expansion for Skyrim, so seeing what being a vampire lord is all about.
