Just an FYI to anyone else, you can air pop popcorn in the microwave by putting the kernels in a paper bag.

The reason I bought the air popper is twofold. First, I don't want to deal with an oily pan (this is the major reason I bought the air popper). Chances are that I want to get back to what I was watching or doing right away. Second, even when using a minimal amount of oil, it is still adding additional fat. The air popper bypasses that and pops via hot air alone. I did read about the yeast thing on another site and will be trying that at some point, I appreciate you bringing it up.

You can also use air poppers to roast coffee beans. Smiley: smile

Ugh, having had a few poorly roasted cups of coffee in my life, I think I'll leave the coffee roasting to the professionals.

Forgot to weigh myself around the middle of last week, but as of Friday, it's a nice 330.8 average.I weigh myself first thing when I get off work in the morning and again first thing when I wake up and take the average.

205.8 lbs, 41.7% body fat and my hydration levels are creeping up.

Joined the gym, I'm going to aim for 3-4 classes a week to start with (in addition to the 2 I do at the moment). There's about 9 that I'm really interested in, but I don't want to overdo it and injure myself.

Be careful. I mashed up my knee last weekend at the gym and have been out of commission (gym wise, I can still hobble around) for a week now.

Yeah I had taken a nasty prat fall at work a few weeks back, smooshed my knee, and the urgent care doctor told me absolutely no gym for two weeks. Knee is mostly better now and I went back on the elliptical last week (carefully). I'm hoping for the all clear to resume regularly workouts on my follow up visit tomorrow afternoon.

Another six pounds off. I think I'll be entering stricter diet territory relatively soon. I added four more songs to my workout playlist (12 songs/50 minutes) and went the entire 50 the last two nights keeping my heart in 60-80 territory. I feel like if I rein my diet, especially dinner, I can really hit my stride and feel @#%^ing awesome about my progress come Thanksgiving. I'm sitting at about 30lbs lost since I started weighing 8/15.

Our biggest loser contest is at final weigh in next Tuesday. It's impossible to win at this point since one of the women participating adopted a strict vegan lifestyle with heavily reduced calories and exercise on par with the amount the actual Biggest Loser contestants complete on a daily basis.. The contest placing is done on a percentage scale and she has also lost around 30 lbs. The only problem is she started at or below 200.

Our team is currently in second place out of fifteen teams of two.

135. I haven't been eating as much protein and have worked out less, and I think I've netted a loss of muscle mass. Part of it is diet, as I just simply need to eat more protein. A more significant part of it is probably that I find weightlifting painfully boring. My friends, being nerds, are rather lukewarm about any type of sport.

Weightligtinf barely takes any time, though. Most of the time is spent in recovery.

Maybe get some home weights, if you don;t have any.

Went to yoga and taekwondo last week, both of which I really enjoyed. Was thinking about going to pilates on Sunday but I really wanted to get level 90 in WoW. I did manage to still eat properly so I'm happy that I managed to make proper meals rather than going for whatever could be grabbed quickest and brought back to eat at my desk.

Today was our final weigh in. Down 13 for this week. Brings my grand total up to 44 pounds lost since August 15. Basically 1 pound away from losing 10% of my weight in that time period.

Each person paid $10 to participate. The top three teams of two and the biggest loser all get a cash prize. Third place was $20 to split, so breaking even, second was $80, and first is $170. The biggest loser gets $30. The guy I teamed up with lost about 9 pounds and started at 192. The biggest loser was actually a woman that lost a total of about 28 pounds, I think she started closer to 200. Percentage wise, I am not biggest loser (not 100% on this since they're announcing results tomorrow). Our team should get either 2nd or 3rd.

Regardless, I am sitting around 405-410 right now depending on when and what I am wearing when I weigh myself. I feel ******* amazing though. Since this time around I am not smoking, every day I feel better and better. I want to start running but I am going to wait since I don't want to risk injury with how much I weigh versus what my knees and joints can handle. I am still biking 50 minutes a day and am now keeping my heart BPM closer to the top end 80% my entire workout. I will stick with the low impact aerobic exercise for now.

Walk on a treadmill for a while at the end of your work out. Gradually build up speed.

Sort of an inspirational story about the trials and tribulations of weight loss and health ...Instead Of Surgery, Man Pedals Off The Pounds.

This guy, Ernest Gagnon, was 570 pounds. He was starting to have some serious health problems. His doctor threatened gastric by-pass surgery. Instead Ernest opted for bicycling. He hooked up with a professional-amateur biker and got busy. He just recently completed his first race. He was last, but he finished.

I enjoyed skimming his FB page.

I don't care if the label is real or not, but "professional-amateur" is stupid.

I felt sick this morning because we decided to celebrate the end of the contest. We had burgers and cheese curds for lunch and then I stopped at Taqueria Guadalajara for some tacos (tie for best in town). I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I was unable to hold down water this morning. I thought I had food poisoning but feel better now. Smiley: laugh

I just checked my email and our team got second place so /hurray for getting paid $30 to lose weight.

Now I want to see how much weight I can lose by Thanksgiving.

I'm going to exercise classes 5 nights a week and still cooking healthy food for each meal (which is taking a level of organisation I'm really not used to). I'm trying to get raid ready in WoW at the moment, so I'm quite impressed that I'm still shopping and cooking properly rather than looking for quick meals.
