So... When you put the toilet paper on the roll,

Which way do you align the end?
It goes over the top towards you. It's the only correct way!:23 (67.6%)
Around the bottom. This is the only correct way!:2 (5.9%)
Sometimes over the top, sometimes around the bottom.:6 (17.6%)
I don't have toilet paper! :(:3 (8.8%)
Total:34

Where is the "The dog keeps trying to eat the TP, so we put it in a basket on a high shelf" option?

I prefer over the top, towards you, but really can't be ***** to bother. However it goes on, it goes on.

I'm guessing "around the bottom" means the loose end is towards the wall and you haven't found a way to make your toilet paper defy gravity.

Anyway, I put it top towards me but neither way is a major trial for me to overcome. I know businesses often put it the other way to discourage casually pulling off 5' of toilet paper since there's more friction involved and less wild spool spinning.

It gets placed on top of the old empty roll that someone is too lazy to take off, or on the back of the toilet.

Do you put the stack of McDonald's napkins with the fold facing you or away from you?

Fine Criminy. How do you place the three seashells back in their container?

1) Face up?
2) Face down?
3) Stacked like a little house?
4) Stacked like a triangle?

It goes over the top, because LOGIC!!

Unless your my fiancee, in which case it goes on the stack of magazines near the toilet because the roll mechanism broke once when you tried to put a new one on it and now you're scared to try again. Smiley: disappointed

Remember those toilet paper roll holders (the spool part) that were like little cages filled with scented beads? Do they still sell those?

This seems to be a familiar topic on these boards. Didn't we somewhat recently have a poll concerning this very subject?

I honestly just chuck it on the spool whichever way it comes out of the bag. If you can't figure out how to operate a paper roll in either orientation, you aren't worthy to use my spectacularily technologically upgraded toilets anyways!

OOT, months back. About the only thing more depressing than discussing toilet paper orientation is re-discussing it.

Yeah, those thin plastic strips bent easily and all the smelly beads would trickle out.

I need an option for "I have a four year old so the TP is usually in the bathtub, wet, with all the bath toys and Megablox" but when that's not the case, I like to put it around back.

Little kids don't know or appreciate the difference anyway. Once they're older you go for the (overpriced) quality stuff.

Seriously, Legos cost a god **** mint these days for anything besides the lame ten piece "Guy with motorcycle" sets.

"Legos" isn't actually a word and I should be saying "LEGO brand modular building toy blocks" or some shit. I'm sticking it to the man!
