I know right. Apparently I'm a discredit to my profession as well. I happened to mention it at work the other day and one of my colleagues was flabbergasted that I wasn't building my own, being an IT guy and all. Despite my better judgement, I explained the rationale and that pacified him a bit.
On behalf of myself and all other IT folk everywhere, please consider yourself unmercifully taunted. Also, my computer can beat up your computer.
I had the middle of the week off this week as my little brother was in town from Boston, and I haven't seen him in several years now. So that was fun. He brought his girlfriend too, and they stayed as house guests in my house so I actually got some use out of my guest room finally. One of the highlights of the week was wandering around a pool in a giant human sized hamster ball. Yes, it was awsome, no, no pictures exist.
This weekend I get to catch up on all my neglected gardening assuming it isn't 100 degrees out again, and possibly actually finish the CNC mill mechanicals and electrical. I still need to build the enclosure around it at some point, but that can wait.
I also may have aquired enough funds to purchase my socket 2011 processor finally so I can actually finish my computer rebuild. I got the deal of the century on koolance quick disconnect fittings, so I'll actually have a really easy to modify cooling loop for the water cooling too, which will be nice for swapping out higher end video cards later on. It's getting there.
