If Obama really wanted to crash Romney's party, he probably should have sent somebody more exciting than a wet sock.

I look forward to the reports of Biden's strip club adventures.

That just means it's polling between 5-10% in that direction. Realistically, a state polling 7% in one direction will vote in that direction. Also, a lack of robust polling data (who wants to spend money seeing how Tennessee will vote?) means the guy who owns the site is stuck with what little polling he gets.

Ludicrous. Realistically, a state polling 7% in one direction in August of an election year is virtually no indication of the November outcome. A 7% lead in late October, sure.

I didn't say a state polling at 7% right now, I said a state polling at 7%. If any given state is polling in 7% favor of a candidate come November, it's "likely" in name only. The question was over the label "likely" for a state polling between 6 and 10%, not the value of today's polls.

Does Mitt Romney saying "Big business in America is doing fine thanks to tax havens" count as a gaffe?

Also, he's gone full on Birther. Then Team Romney complains that Team Obama can't take a joke.

GOP Convention getting cut by a day due to Issac.
Roll Call wrote:
Due to an approaching storm, the GOP presidential convention will convene on Monday but will immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said this evening in a statement.

The decision by the RNC effectively upends the first two days of the event that will officially nominate former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for president.

“Our first priority is ensuring the safety of delegates, alternates, guests, members of the media attending the Republican National Convention, and citizens of the Tampa Bay area,” Priebus said. “RNC Convention officials and the Romney campaign are working closely with state, local and federal officials, as well as the Secret Service, to monitor Tropical Storm Isaac and preserve Florida’s emergency management resources.”

Between this and the 2008 convention where they lost a day due to a hurricane, I think it's safe to say that God hates Republicans. 2008 was due to not wanting the bad press of partying while the hurricane was hitting the States, not due to an immediate threat to them in St. Paul.

Biden announced earlier that he wouldn't be traveling to Tampa as planned because the campaign figured law enforcement would be busy enough with the storm to stretch their resources accommodating the vice president.

I don't know if Tampa is in any danger but the storm's been (or is being) upgraded to a Class 1 hurricane so I'm guessing it's a bit like 2008 -- can't be seen fiddling while Rome burns.

I used to know a woman that got pregnant from rape. She didn't know her rapist, it was a violent rape, so I guess it was legit. She was guilted into keeping it, but once she had the baby, she couldn't raise it. She saw her rapist every time she looked at the baby and the baby was just a constant reminder of what she went through. So her mother raised the baby. She has no contact with her "son", even though she acknowledges she has a child. I can't remember if the child knew who she was in relation to him or not. Child of rape or not, it would be traumatic to know that your mother hates you because of how you were conceived.

But hey, abortion is bad.

It's wrong because it doesn't make babies.

All rape is wrong, because it doesn't make babies.

If it wasn't wrong, it wouldn't be rape.

When you lay it out like this, the thought process is much clearer and rational.
