GOP Convention getting cut by a day due to Issac.
Roll Call wrote:
Due to an approaching storm, the GOP presidential convention will convene on Monday but will immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said this evening in a statement.

The decision by the RNC effectively upends the first two days of the event that will officially nominate former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for president.

“Our first priority is ensuring the safety of delegates, alternates, guests, members of the media attending the Republican National Convention, and citizens of the Tampa Bay area,” Priebus said. “RNC Convention officials and the Romney campaign are working closely with state, local and federal officials, as well as the Secret Service, to monitor Tropical Storm Isaac and preserve Florida’s emergency management resources.”

Between this and the 2008 convention where they lost a day due to a hurricane, I think it's safe to say that God hates Republicans. 2008 was due to not wanting the bad press of partying while the hurricane was hitting the States, not due to an immediate threat to them in St. Paul.

Biden announced earlier that he wouldn't be traveling to Tampa as planned because the campaign figured law enforcement would be busy enough with the storm to stretch their resources accommodating the vice president.

As I understand it, it's pretty rare for a hurricane to hit Tampa.

I don't know if Tampa is in any danger but the storm's been (or is being) upgraded to a Class 1 hurricane so I'm guessing it's a bit like 2008 -- can't be seen fiddling while Rome burns.

Sorry raped pregnant lady, Ryan doesn't care how you got that bun in the oven. I'm sure raped-pregnant women everywhere are overjoyed that what they thought was an illegitimate child Ryan has made legitimate.

I used to know a woman that got pregnant from rape. She didn't know her rapist, it was a violent rape, so I guess it was legit. She was guilted into keeping it, but once she had the baby, she couldn't raise it. She saw her rapist every time she looked at the baby and the baby was just a constant reminder of what she went through. So her mother raised the baby. She has no contact with her "son", even though she acknowledges she has a child. I can't remember if the child knew who she was in relation to him or not. Child of rape or not, it would be traumatic to know that your mother hates you because of how you were conceived.

But hey, abortion is bad.

Why blame the poor rapist? I'm sure he's just the sad product of this messed-up, ***-loving liberal society. You can probably blame Obamacare, too.

Legitimate rape doesn't make babies because the only rape that counts is when dudes get ****-****-raped. That shit is wrong and needs to be stopped. Doesn't make babies though.

It's wrong because it doesn't make babies.

All rape is wrong, because it doesn't make babies.

If it wasn't wrong, it wouldn't be rape.

When you lay it out like this, the thought process is much clearer and rational.

With Isaac headed toward New Orleans, Republican National Convention officials are considering a number of worst-case scenarios including a quick roll call and a truncated speech by Mitt Romney, National Journal reports.

"Officials conceded on the record for the first time Monday that plans for an already shortened three-day convention were in doubt... A senior GOP official said no decision had been made and none was likely Monday, but said the convention conceivably could be as short as a single day."

Other reports suggested the convention could be cancelled entirely.

I weep for Ann Romney's potentially unspoken speech.

Well, I'm sure you're more than qualified to be an expert on penises weeping in your hair, it's simply a case of most people not prematurely posting all over the forum in fits of pseudo-rage.

If she should decide to go on with the show, Obama via his white horse FEMA is standing at the ready to rescue her.

Is it proper to ask the GOP, "WTF were you thinking?" yet?
