Since nobody else posted one of these, I figured I would. I woke up this morning from the transformer that services my half of my condo complex blowing out. Thankfully I got into the shower quick enough that the water was still hot. Don't really have a whole lot planned for the weekend other than bringing the Tiny Terror (my 3 yr old son) to the local Children's Museum. If the weather holds up I might bring him to the park on Sunday so he wears himself out.

How 'bout you?

Not feeling the greatest so I'm going to relax this weekend and re-read The Night Circus and fit in chores when I feel up to it.

Probably spending the weekend on the phone yelling at people.

Almost as fun as cloud ranching.

Unpacking and yard work. I'll also try to get my paper written for my class. Jam packed weekend I tell ya.

We're at a rental house a couple blocks off the beach at Lake Michigan. Rained a little this morning but was a beautiful afternoon; nice and warm without being uncomfortably hot and the water was perfect.

My thanks to whoever in the neighborhood plugged in their Linksys router and called it a day.

Smiley: lol

Gotta love em. Few and far between these days though it seems. I had expected to see one unsecure network when I moved into the neighborhood, but alas...

Luckily Comcast finally showed yesterday and hooked me up.

Speaking of which, why are you ******* around on the internet anyways if you're a few blocks off the beach?

Did it go something like this?

This week sucked.

My grandmother, who was a sharp old lady two weeks ago, is today ranting that the doctors and nurses are trying to kill her and is refusing medication and testing. Doctor managed to get her to take Haldol, and she finally consented to some tests. Which is great... except that if this is dementia, the Haldol could well kill her. I'm hoping that the warning is only if you try to treat the dementia with Haldol and not just a one off. I'm terrified that my grandmother is going to die.

So tonight I'm getting drunk. Tomorrow, I will study and take my doggie to get her hair did and hope that grandma is ok.

Sunday, I'll study some more, probably watch a movie with my husband and continue to hope for the best.

Time for my second drink.

Did some gardening on Saturday then went and ate really bad fried food and watched fireworks at our towns little annual celebration. Sunday it rained, I took a nap, watched Olympics, read a bunch and watched Buzz Kill - a little independent movie my husband had been hounding me to watch with him. I didn't like it.

Besides my own veggies that are starting to reach completion, a neighbor has twice unloaded piles green beans on me (never mention that you 'like' a particular vegetable growing in someone else's garden). Anyone have any good ideas for cooking/eating/preserving beans? I'm going out of town next weekend - I need to make sure all my fresh produce doesn't go to waste.

It's Monday - woot. Smiley: frown

Pickle them and then you'll have an excuse to drink lots of bloody marys.

I've been frying obscene amounts of yellow squash. I dreamed about it last night because yesterday's batch was so perfect. Our tomato plants just finally went wild yesterday when the heat broke and I've got a couple dozen to pick today. My mouth is watering so actually I think I'm going to go pick them now and make caprese salad.

I've not ever had a bloody mary with a bean in it.

A Bloody Mary in MN always came with a celery stalk and a short-beer chaser. Out here you'll often find them with a jumbo shrimp or pickle spear for a garnish - no beer chaser.

I may try and make some dilly beans if I feel ambitious this week.

Down here you'll find some places that make their own spicy pickled beans (or okra) and put them in a bloody mary (along with the celery stalk or in place of it).

That happens so frequently in our day to day lives as to be unremarkable by now.

I just got back from a other work trip to spokane, only to discover almost all of my fish died due to a combination of pump failures. Not exactly thrilled about that.

As I have a 6 week old son and have lost track of this quaint day naming system you people use, I'll assume this post is still current.

Today I realized that when I decided to stop working and be a stay at home dad, that the noble phrasing I used to deliver the news should have been less "I'm going to take some time off and raise my kids, this isn't a career for me it's just money, I can always make more money, I'm probably not going to have many more children" and more "You know, I've always wanted to spend hours each day cleaning sh[b][i][it off of tiny ********** that's something that's really been missing from my life".

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I can't relate because
a. My kid's ********* were huge.
b. The shlt hardly ever stayed on them. Hair, blinds, crib slats, back, his toy dinosaur? Boys are so friggin gross.

My baby boy moves to the big city next weekend. I've never seen my husband in such a funk. I came home from work yesterday, he was sitting out on the deck just watching the kid mow the lawn and looking like he was about to cry. Without having a clue what was on his mind, I thoughtlessly said, "you look like you just lost your best friend'. Then a little tear did appear in the corner of his eye. Smiley: frown

Sure, now he has to mow his own lawn. I'll cry too when that day comes.
