All he needs now is to scream at a camera while laying all over a soundboard of boings, dings and klaxon sounds.

So, just like CNBC business news.

Well, except that they don't follow the prediction with the fact that they are talking out of their ***, they try to keep that a secret.

I bet they don't even have toothpaste. Probably just go out and buy a new set of teeth every 6 months or so. Then write it off as a business related expense. Can't be a corporate snake, or public figure without a nice set of teeth.

So, you're mad at Romney for being more truthful than people who are being paid money to gain viewership via stock prediction. No wonder politicians lie so much.

They grow in multiple rows and drop out as they're used. Like sharks!

Today's video drop is Romney talking about Palestine and how they can't have peace there because the Palestinians are dedicated to destroying Israel. And, if they did have their own nation, they wouldn't be allowed to have sovereign borders as Israel would have to patrol them or else Iran would make them a puppet state.

Given Romney's previous remarks about Palestinian culture and his foreign policy philosophy of "Outsource our decisions to Israel and do what they tell us to", this might be less newsworthy than yesterday's video.

First, I am not mad, and second, I posted for the lulz, so, I guess WHOOSH, if you can't see why his statements are funny.

Nice strawman though.

Suppose so; though my cynical side wonders how anyone is shocked by this kind of thing anymore.

I think you're confusing "shocked" with some other emotion. I doubt anyone is clutching their pearls to think that Romney holds the less fortunate in contempt and considers them leeches unwilling to do anything to better themselves.

Romney's comments caught on tape were a nice little window into his over-all philosophy of socio-economics in the US - turned me off more from him more than anything else I've seen or heard during this campaign.

It's distressing because he was the most centrist of all the Republican primary candidates. I remember saying to people that I could at least tolerate him as president, compared to say Santorum or Bachmann. And maybe that's still the case, and all this recent stuff is just pandering to the far right. But it's so hard to tell.

And normally I hate the notion of "you just can't tell where that guy stands." Because all politicians are deceptive and pandering in public, and the only thing that really matters is the general position they advocate for in practice. And Romney's record in practice does peg him as more centrist in economic issues (http://ontheissues.org/Mitt_Romney.htm see diamond at the bottom). But he's doing a damn good job of making me doubt he'd act that way in the presidency, especially with Republican controlled legislature.

I know it's an election and I know everyone says things to score points on the other guy, etc.

With all sincerity and honesty, I believe that Romney would be a rubber stamp president for a GOP congress far more to the right than Romney presents himself. I also believe that Romney would essentially hand over our Middle East foreign policy to Israel (specifically Netanyahu) which would be disastrous.

Both of those are unfounded boogeyman fears, honestly. Nothing Romney has done in his career indicates it would go this way.

Dunno about that. His epic healthcare flip-flop has to be taken as a bit more than simply election-time pandering. And I suspect Joph's take is due as much to the state of the GOP base as it is to Romney, himself.

Federal budgets aren't the same as business budgets either, but all I've heard so far is "He's good for the economy because of his business background."

I can't imagine Romney standing up to the GOP congress or denying them their goals. Maybe you can, but any evidence of it has eluded me.

I'm not sure what this means, really. Had Obama "stood up" to the GOP in your mind by catering to their every whim and "compromising" by sacrificing his core goals at a him?

*Shrug* Okay then. I won't be waiting to see him turn and give the GOP the finger over the mandate if he's elected, but if you'd like to, then by all means.
