The amount of people who don't understand how equity firms like Bain operate staggers me.
Some people retaining jobs is better than nobody retaining jobs.
The problem is that the only people retaining jobs are the ones that could have easily found a job elsewhere, because they had the resources to move and the education and skills to change careers if necessary.
The ones that lost their jobs lack the money, the education, or the skills to just pick up and move to a better labor market, especially when the housing market crashed and many of them were unable to sell their homes. Structural unemployment is tough to fix.
