I was wondering how long this would take. I'm actually disappointed it took this long.

Edit: On a serious note, thanks for all the help. My sister is a PTA but she hadn't heard of anything like this before. She's supposed to get me some thera-bands so I can do some exercises at home to stretch and strengthen my shoulder. Hopefully it gets better, I want to play some golf when the weather cools down.

If you suspect it's related to using the mouse try using a trackball instead. Heck, try using a trackball anyway, they're much better for you if you're spending a lot of time on the computer. I only use standard mice for gaming now and I'm much better for it.

If it's mouse related, switch mouse hands.

It's quite easy to get used to using a mouse on your off-hand. I can even peeveepee with my left hand...muahahahaha.

Pretty sure this is the internet equivalent of "I can beat you up with one hand tied behind my back."

Actually, it really is pretty easy to use a right hander with your left hand. Thats how my work and home computers are set up. You end up using your middle finger as the left click. With practice you can actually use a right and a left on two computers at the same time fairly fluidly. comes in handy when you need to do two things at once.

I'm left handed and find it awkward to use my left hand with a mouse.

Back before I realized it was retarded to try to play ffxi with a regular mouse I would have shoulder/elbow issues. Now that I'm a keyboard only player I do find I get this ache/pain in my back below my shoulder blade if I'm partying using my macros a lot. Same spot all the time so I'm sure its because I've got bad posture.

They make control pads for a reason.

Seriously, mashing macros got so bad I had to stop playing for a while and came back using a control pad. It made playing the game not hurt so much.

If the controls on that game were the biggest issue you had with it, your sanity needs questioning.

Something along the lines of one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Dual-Action-Game-Pad/dp/B0000ALFCI

Though when I game, I use one of these controllers...

Kao brings up some good points regarding ergonomics. I'd also suggest visiting a chiropractor before going to a normal GP. Sometimes a disk out of alignment can have many different kinds of affects on other parts of the body, and it would be way cheaper than surgery. Also most medical plans cover some degree of chiropractic care.

Just research a chiropractor first, some of them can be a little fruity. Into pressure points to relieve pent up emotional drama from your parents... all sorts of weird stuff.
