I'm sitting at my office in jeans and a t-shirt, taking care of the last few things I need to complete, and then I'm out of here for good. It's a pretty great feeling to know that all of the little nagging ongoing annoyances are going to be moot (for me, anyways) in a few hours.

This weekend is for partying! And hangovers, probably.

Yay!

Rub your balls on the keyboard before you go.

Saturday is filled with errand-style tasks. Mostly involving the better half. Sunday I expect will be for recovering from Saturday.

Car registration, haircut, wedding planning. Super fun times.

The wedding plans are starting to round into form, at least. I think we may have found a nice 3rd party package deal for the resort we were looking at. The 3rd party site is well reviewed, but the next step is to double check with the resort's wedding consultant to make sure everything's on the up and up.

Also, much video gaming will be had. I'd like to catch the UFC fights tonight, but I think I'll miss the first few doing my own training. I'm getting the hint of abs along my sides, but there's a stubborn beer pooch in the middle that's slow to disappear. Exercise is hard. Smiley: frown

Friends are having a BBQ we may or may not attend. These late-night kind of things don't sit well with the kids. Of course "late-night" is all relative when your bedtimes are 7pm and 8pm... Smiley: rolleyes

Other than that, we need some food in the house, so shopping it is, followed by other chores around the house. Also planning the vacation a little, mostly trying to figure out what we want to do in Calgary for the day we're there. As for gaming, I'm going to keep at my D3 stuff, and play a little of one of the Star Ocean games on the side.

Also the "bailout game" starts in a little bit. So one more way to watch Germany get the better of Greece I'm assuming...

Have to drop off car for post-five-car boo-boo makeover, drop mom off at airport (Smiley: crymore) and get some blood tests done. I have to say that it is the best visit we have ever had and I am sorry to see her go, she is such a help around the house and with the baby. I feel SO relaxed and the meals have been ridiculous. Sunday I will spend Not Cooking and Moping. Maybe I will work out, who knows.

Pantry is bare so I got some shopping ahead. At least I still got a decent supply of meat in the deep freeze so it won't get too costly. I also got some dusting and crap like that to do. Other than that it is going to be a very quiet weekend. Roomate has the weekend off also so it is going to be real nice around the house. Might get some gaming done.

I'm feeling kind of antsy today. Last night I went to the retirement toast of a coworker - a guitar playing lesbian chemist who over the years has taught me how to recognize the good forage plants and local secret places to find them, how to can/preserve all the various goodies and really good friend. I've been avoiding going down to her office today as I'll probably cry. Also, another good friend co-worker, the autistic aged-hippy dog-trainer is retired as of today - he just stopped by for a final hug. Smiley: frown So many of my long-time compatriots leaving the agency.

So, I think I shall dedicate this weekend to gaming - something I've not done in awhile (it's supposed to be rainy and my garden/yard/flowers are all caught up on weeding and what-nots). I'm going to try and dl the freebie game Joph linked elsewhere, but I'll probably play Warhammer - it's fun again.

Pot Update: My hypertufa pots are drying for two more weeks. I made 5 of them of various shapes and sizes, though nothing too big as I didn't feel ready to delve into reinforcing materials.. It was kind of easy, but they're not terribly pretty. However, they should be very utilitarian. They seem like they'll be nice cozy indoor/outdoor homes for some select vegetation.

I have to argue with the wife about seeing Brave instead of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Jokes on her, I'll happily see either, which translates to going to see Brave and use it as a "lose" to argue to go see Amazing Spider-Man. Bwa ha ha.

Reviews for Abraham lincoln vampire hunter were all less than ideal apperently.

It's my day off today, and I had intended to sleep in, except that I keep getting phone calls for debt collection for some stupid ***** who didn't pay her bills but had this number 3 years ago at 7:00 am. As you can tell, I am slightly annoyed about that. Anyways, Later in the day, I get to see my Nephew for a while, then maybe some work on the new computer chassis if any of the parts get here.

Tomorrow I'll be at work again, we're hooking up the last of the two new server room UPS's in the primary site, The last one went fine, though the heavy gauge ground cable on the 3 Phase run going in to the origional UPS was completely charred for some reason, and our electricians aren't really sure why yet. Tracking that down becomes the next task under the "install very expensive new thing frst THEN see why the old one melted" plan, which needless to say i'm not terribly thrilled with.

The rest of the time will be spent gardening most likely. I do ha ve a minor car repair axle swap i need to do at some point too, but the axle isn't here yet so that will likely wait until next weekend.

Let us know what you think of Brave there Lolgaxe. I am debating if I should pay the dough to go see it in theaters or wait till it comes out on FX or a similar channel.

Though I was under the impression that this was the point of the movie's humor (that it's a joke that's presented with all seriousness), I suppose I could see it being problematic in practicality.

We still might see it. Less interested in Brave, personally, though I'm having trouble pinning down why.

I think I might try my luck on some unsuspecting Walleye this weekend. That and prep work for my upcoming stay-cation. Perhaps a little FFXI/Skyrim/MW3/Mass Effect/Link to the Past with my 5 year old...

Very nice. The herbs in the first pic look like they need hypertufa pots.

Are those peas growing up the trellis?

"Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" falls under the same category as something like "Snakes on a Plane" for me. You don't have to see the movie, because the title tells you all you really need to know.

I feel the same way about "Snow Falling on Cedars". Seriously, I could just go outside during winter for that.

We were going to see Abraham Lincoln this weekend, but my husband texted me yesterday and said that Abe can wait, he's decided he wants to see Brave instead. He know I was excited about both and he said the review for Brave made him remember how good Wally was. I told him we should just see both.

I read the Lincoln book. It was pretty good. I'm not much of a history buff, so I mentioned to my husband that I wondered how much of the story was true. He snarkily replied, "There weren't any vampires." I know that much, but I honestly found the stuff about his life to be as interesting (if not more so) as the vampire parts.

Back to the movies. Has anyone seen Moonrise Kingdom? It looks quirky enough to be good - and it has Brucey Willis in it. Smiley: inlove

I don't really get Wes Anderson movies. I think it's because the structure of his 'dark comedy' jokes don't really register for me; I don't get what's supposed to be amusing about a lot of them. Quirky, yes, weird, definitely. Funny? Not really.

The lone exception was Life Aquatic, which I thought was pretty funny, but I think it's because that one skewed much more towards a sort of absurdist humor I can get down with. Willem Dafoe scurrying around in a scuba suit and beanie never gets old. If Moonrise Kingdom is more like that, then I'd be interested. But if it's just people acting pretentious in bored, monotone voices, then count me out.

We want to see Brave too, but it'll have to wait.

No real plans this weekend, but I will be finishing up my first week of work in over a year, yay! Also, we got the green light on a pretty sweet apartment. We get to move in 3 weeks. All in all, things are going well. This move back to Nashville has been a big positive.

Also also - I'm still not smoking, yay!
