So much at stake on this gloomy tuesday.

Venus will trek across the sun today. I wont' likely see this as my little piece of the sky is covered with low-hanging clouds - as is the case with much of this side of the world. Still, it is hoped that this event will divulge some scientific secrets that Venus has not yet shared with us. It could also herald the coming of a second christ, the ending of the first age of man, or a global tree-frog infestation.

What if a baby is born onto the Asylum today, will the forces of good and evil be held in balance by the union of smash-sperm and nexa-ova?

....and of course Wisconsin holds their gubernatorial recall election today. The outcome is pretty substantial. Will Walker win this game of thrones, or will he be usurped by that dirty liberal guy?

That would be fine with me...I'm sick of being pregnant. It's too late though, the kid is obviously already evil...he's currently trying to suffocate me with his feet.

It played a few times on the taxi ride to work on that damn little television. Or maybe just once and the coffee hadn't kicked in yet.

She's Venus in blue jeans
Mona Lisa with a ponytail...

That and the above mentioned song make up the entirety of songs I know invoking Venus.

I voted for Scott Walker again. Haha, just kidding. Fuck that ***hole again. In the ***.

I'm more hoping that one of the four pubbie state senators lose their recall since that will remove their super majority (they kind of already lost it when they lost guaranteed quorum, but yeah).

As a public sector worker, I just want to take a moment since I have to smile and play nice otherwise to say fuck all you public worker hating assbags. I keep my head down and do my job. Hell, I even do a job now that most on the right against public assistance would appreciate (prevent/find fraud).

Turns out the kid that everyone thought was gay in high school actually was, now lives in WI with his partner, and works with Equality WI. I keep getting facebook status updates dealing with his various meetings with congress people, ex presidents, and photos of them holding lit letters spelling out "BARRETT & MITCHELL" over some overpass in Milwaukee?

Funny that you should mention that since I do occasionally browse here on my lunch. I have to carefully track my time usage since part of the department budget is federal funding. That means that sometimes when I use the toilet, your taxes are paying for my business. Just doing my duty. Smiley: grin

Cool story bro, I already called this weeks ago. Money wins elections.

Ha! Here I thought you were linking a "Walker Wins!" article. So what makes you think I automagically support unions in the first place? Because I'm in Wisconsin and a public worker? I'm actually rather ambivalent regarding public unions. Scott Walker and his buddies are sucking our state dry and when he's done, he will move on to some private sector lobbying job or on to national politics. I lost some faith in my state when we voted out Russ Feingold in favor of Ron "lol" Johnson. Tonight I just lost a little more. Incoming indictment in 3, 2, 1?

As far as I'm concerned, we won. Lehman beat Wanggaard in the recall which means the pubbies can no longer Hulk Smash things through the legislature (at least until the Fall).

Mission accomplished in a GW, Wisconsin is still ****** kind of way.

Why do you want to 'doom' public sector employees?

For decades they have gutted City and States and any attempt to control the waste and benefit packages that tax payers get stuck paying for has been met with Democrats screaming "IT"S A WAR ON THE MIDDLE CLASS!!!!!"

Because Public employee Unions have become the biggest money laundering/vote buying scheme in politics.

And yet I don't see any union boss names on that list of gazillionaires that forbes puts out every year. I don't see their names in the news receiving seven digit bonuses despite laying off workers. In fact, rarely do I hear about successful lobbying attempts by unions anymore. They lose out to the corporate lobby almost every time.

Follow the money trail, it doesn't lead to public employees.
