Jonwin is packing the car and once food is consume, we will be heading to the hotel, and Balticon46. He still has to work today and Monday, but I have to set up Special Needs Desk, put my jewelry in the Art Show and finish the Zelda and Link costumes. They need to be hem before 5pm tomorrow.

Don't break anything while we're gone.

I have a 10 day weekend... Took Friday off, then all next week. Had to use up my vacation time by 6/1 or lose it all.
Does that count as a weekend?

Got a tree removal service in today to get rid of some very large Poplar trees around my house. They have a tendency to be very weak and snap off in wind storms, I'd rather not have them fall on my house. 7 trees removed and 3 trees trimmed, all very close to my house and utility lines so I couldn't do them myself.

Going to try to remember that Monday is a holiday and not try to go to work. Oh, and going to have a picnic and try flying a kite with Thom.

I'm going to spend the entire weekend with my *** glued to my computer chair, because my last 3 or 4 weekends without my son have been re-arranged by random acts of randomness.

Have fun at Balticon. My cousin lives right outside of Baltimore. I wonder if her family is going?

This. I had forgotten until I read this thread, probably doesn't help the calendar on our wall was set on April. Smiley: rolleyes Anyhoo, littlest one has a birthday party. 1 year old. That means no more formula, and we get to transition her to more real food. Smiley: yippee So yay for a shrinking food budget. Family in town and other stuff that needs to get done around the house. I imagine we'll keep pretty busy.

Also want to play some D3.

Nothing super unusual for me. Fiancee's dressage show on Sat. Maybe UFC fights afterwards. Some writing and E3 prep.

As far as games go, I'm working through Trine 2, which is awesome. I'm also like 1/5 of the way through AC: Brotherhood, though I'm finding it to be fairly tedious. Probably some Starhawk intermittently, and recently revisited Borderlands to try to finish the DLC.

Going to the Zoo on Monday, I may go to Amsterdam tomorrow but I haven't decided yet.
The rest of the time will be spent drinking beer and slaughtering demons in D3.

No plans here. Except scour the web and newspapers for a job.

Two weeks ago my husband lost his job. That meant that neither of us are working. Yay! So last week we loaded up everything and came back to Nashville and we're staying with my sister while we try and get back on our feet. Right now the only money we have coming in is my unemployment and that's not much at all. The hubby has applied for unemployment, but there's a mandatory four week waiting period in TN before you see any money (which is ********** He's found a part-time job, but they only pay twice a month, so it's going to be a while before we see any of that money. And an old friend of mine said I could come bartend at the restaurant she works at, but it's such a long drive, I'm not sure I'd make any money once you factor in gas.

Smiley: bah

what holiday is this monday for you folks? We had our may monday off this week - it is a queen thing.

Next week is the last week of a yearly event at my work which is both exciting and tiring. Looking forward to the party we'll be having next week to mark the end of this yearly phase. As for this weekend, not sure... maybe drinking lots of water and going on a bike ride. Or maybe I'll drink beer and play D3.

Memorial Day. It's a day of remembrance for the men and women who have died while serving in the armed forces and it is also become the unofficial start of Summer in the US.

Which is funny, since we still have another month or so before the rain stops and the nice weather starts. Don't tell anyone in the campgrounds though. Our secret. Smiley: wink

Funny you mention that because I'm in California and right outside my window as I type this the skies are dark and there are raindrops on the cars and even though the forecast says it's going to struggle to get to 75 over the weekend we just flew over the freeway and it's packed with motorhomes and people towing boats and trailers.

I'll be packing some more, and doing some homework. There's a motorcycle ralley of sorts in town that I'll probably hit tomorrow, and a graduation party on Sunday. Looking forward to a 3 day break from the office, for sure.

I had today off, which was great. Dentist appointment too though, which was less great. My lip is still numb, so i'm slurring my words a bit, so appologies if this is less legible than usual. Tomorrow the order of the day is additional flower aquisition for the front garden area. This was supposed to happen last weekend, however that got postponed upon discovering that the fence installers had apperently cracked, and then filled with concrete the only sprinkler pipe I hadn't checked, which was of course the one for the flower bed. Long story and several explosions later, that was fixed, so this weekend, it should be safe to add additional flowers without them drying up and bursting into flames. Sunday, no plans. Monday will be the dreaded Memorial day barbique, for which bacon wrapped tenderloins have already been procured and stored in my private meat vault.

Condolences Darqflame, sorry to hear that. let me know if theres anything that needs done this weekend while you are away.

Here in Michigan the weather is pretty nice. Was 85 yesterday, 70s today. The guys from the tree removal service said it was supposed to get a little worse tomorrow though, that we were lucky we could finish it all today.

I didn't pay them to do clean up, so they just dropped and piled the trees. I have four very large piles of branches and tree trunks. But now the side of my house is very open, actually have sun light there. And there are no trees or branches hanging over or touching my roof. Five hours of work, ten trees (Two of which required them to climb and cut down from the top down), and only 1100 dollars.

I'll be spending this weekend cutting up branches and making new piles to burn this winter.

Are you really that incapable of separating yourself from the more political threads? Even Varus would be friendly in the Friday threads, leave the ******** where it belongs, sir.

Anyway...

My weekend starts on Monday as I work straight through the weekend. Got a BBQ to go to tomorrow evening, but for the most part, it's going to be work, sleep, and some EQ in between. I would normally have taken this weekend off, but I'm travelling across the country and back in August, so I'm trying to fill the ol' bank account.

As for me, I'll be playing D3 and checking in on my nephew's dog while he's out of town. It's going to be mid 90's here this weekend, so I'm making sure she has plenty of water. It's a big back yard with lots of shade but chasing squirrels is thirsty work! I'm freezing up a chunk of ice to put in one of her water dishes to try to help. I Smiley: inlove that little dog.
