I don't know, tbh. I'm not gullible enough to believe that reality tv is 100% authentic, that's for sure. But I don't know if I buy that they're 100% scripted either. I don't watch reality tv much, so it's not something I've put a lot of thought into.

I'm imagining that something like the God Warrior fat lady plays out like this:

Find a christian family that wants to be on TV. (Bonus when you get a fat mom with weird teeth and fat-slurred speech).
Find a "new age" family that wants to be on TV.
Tell them that acting out extreme stereotypes = big ratings.
Give them a few pointers on when/where/how to burst.
Profit.

(There are no ??? steps in this scenario)
