I understand she's considered quite **** by a small cadre of blind Hasidim living outside of Brooklyn. Since we all know they control media and banking, that likely explains this otherwise unusual fundraising tactic. Are you sure you didn't get an email intended for Jaime Goldschlagger?

Horseface joke, how my exwife would have an instant ****** if SJP sent her an email directly, and how I somehow read the thread title as "worst political lecture ever".

Meh, I'm blaming it on sleep deprivation and no coffee.

In a relative sense, I suppose. I'm sure there's opossums out there that look good for their age as well.

Actually, I'm less worried about her looks (the criticism is greatly exaggerated) and more so about loathing her in everything I've ever seen her "act" in.

Smiley: lol

I don't see the horse thing, myself, but nor do understand why women are so quick to defend her looks. I think she looks like an archetypal fairy tale witch.

Her being the romantic lead in a rom-com must be the ultimate middle-finger to unlucky boyfriends. Thought that you could grit your teeth and suffer through "Failure to Launch" by taking solace in the attractive female lead? Well suck it. You get Sarah Jessica Parker's hook nose for an hour and a half.

Two of those were alright enough, and I guess you can't blame McConaughey's acting on Reign of Fire when that movie was just awful with or without him.

I think it's safer to say that most Rom-Coms are horrible movies. Some have their funny moments, but honestly I'd much rather watch a regular comedy or an action flick (as long as it has a decent plot). Or even better, a period drama. Those are my chick flicks of choice.

What's funny, is my boyfriend wants to go see Rom-Coms more often than I do. In his defense, he thus far has done a good job of picking the funny ones. But I still hate myself a bit inside for enjoying them.

Along the same lines, I found the recent flick Love and Other Drugs to actually be a pretty good movie, despite containing a few well-worn rom-com cliches.

It helped that you got to see Anne Hathaway flounce around naked for most of it.

I'd say I answered it quite fully. Just apply deductive reasoning:

I'm not interested in watching the movie, for starters. Nor am I into Anne Hathaway. I don't need to watch it just to see a naked person, as there are many more viable options. So there's no possible scenario where I'd be watching this scene, and, by extension, no possible scenario where I'd be looking at her eyes, and not her naked body.

See, the eyes (and my disinterest in her as an actress) are a non-starter. It prevents your scenario from ever occurring.

Yes, but there's a difference between a good movie and an entertaining movie. Sometimes they overlap, like with Princess Bride (one of my favorites too), others don't like The Ugly Truth. That was one that I hated myself a little for enjoying. So many of those movies are just so sexist, it bothers me. You have an *** hole hot dude, and a hot woman who often is a bit neurotic but overall is a nice person, they get together, the guy is a jerk, one of them (usually the dude) screws up and they split. Then at the last scene, someone does something redeeming and they get back together. It's one thing if the guy is a genuine nice guy but did something stupid to **** off the girl. Like in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He cheated with his ex briefly, but as soon as he got his head together he left, and went immediately to tell his new girl what had happened. I'm glad she forgave him in that movie. But too often the guy is a jerk who doesn't deserve to be forgiven, but he's forgiven anyways because everybody loves a happy ending! Smiley: glare That is the main reason why I detest romantic comedies. That and every single one I've seen has the same **** plot.
