So what is everyone doing on this highest of days, and the following weekend? Me, I've got some overtime lined up for this evening and Sunday. Saturday I'm gonna try to do some yardwork - clean up the leftover branches and leaves from the winter then put down some grass seed before it starts raining.

Signing some papers to get the patio construction started. Besides that, finish up the plans for the kid's birthday party while trying to keep her out of the loop, and being a slave to whatever whim the females have. Also going to try to sneak away at some point to the driving range. Not nearly as grueling as it sounds, but I've been working for the past twelve days in a row so I need an hour or two for myself.

Working today, got the little one this weekend. Don't really have a lot planned this weekend for the first time in a while.

Visiting with relatives who are in from out of town, and fixing stuff in my house. Should be a good weekend.

- Dinner w/ the future mother-in-law in a few hours.

- UFC fights on Saturday. Super psyched for it...it's been too long since a decent UFC card. Hoping Jones decapitates Evans.

- Writing. Need to put the finishing touches on my Closure review (neat game), and an editorial about the stupid Johnny Cash Prototype 2 commercial.

- Wedding plans, maybe. They keep getting put off, but they need to get done.

Gonna be a good weekend, where I try to distract myself from the massive pile of work that'll be waiting to slam me on Monday.

You joke, but you fuckers have been talking about it so much that I almost got the urge to fire it up again. But my laptop can't handle a Youtube video that's longer than 1.5 minutes without overheating, so no PC gaming for me for a year or so.

If I do any gaming, it'll be finishing off Rage, finally, or repeatedly running into the brick wall that is Soldner X: Himmelsturmer.

Hey, that's a damn good song. Cash does it more justice than Trent Reznor did.

RL: Glorious nothing. I'm going to avoid the 420 hell by spending my time playing games.

TOR, Diablo 3 open beta, TERA open beta, ME3, DA:O.

Sounds healthy to me.

I love the song. It's that the accompanying portions (commercial, game) don't do it justice.

I prefer the Reznor version by decimal points, myself, but they're really 1a and 1b. NIN's version captures self-destructive drug abuse near perfectly. It sounds like death. Cash's is a melancholy memoir, much more about love and regrets. It's emotional in a completely different way. Both awesome.

I don't even smoke and I feel like I'd be upset if I was in Albany without it.

I've apperently gone from having no real lawn to speak of dispite my delusions to the contrary when I started, to having grass that grows about 4 times faster than everyone else around me, which is annoying since it requires mowing. So thats task #1 for the weekend. That and anti-slug chemical warfare.

Everyone is coming over here for a barbique on saturday, so I've got the kabobs made and the steaks marinating. If the weather stays decent, some helicopter flying may also occur.

Sunday will be working on the water block loop for the computer upgrade build. The radiators are supposedly getting here tomorrow. Got the dual 3GB 580GTX's installed in the existing computer, things render reeeeeealy fast!

Had to take my MAT. I'm transferring to another Grad School due to my hubby switching careers to be home with us (oil & gas instead of Blackwater.); we're relocating. Anyway, the Head of the Counseling program at that school tells me that although I have a high gpa, great recommendations, presented research, participated in clubs, yada yada yada - I still have to take the MAT because while they are in transition, they are requiring all incoming students to have it in their files.

"Oh, You'll be in the program, we just require the test in your file". meh. On a good note, the CJ department (Grad program) gave me the thumbs up to dip into their program to take some courses. The Criminal Justice Graduate department head, even told me which classes would be more beneficial to me (classes that are more Criminology vs Law )

Anyway, I took my MAT and got a preliminary score of 395 (I didn't study. I hate analogies and playing Who Wants to be a Millionaire would be a better study guide for the MAT anyway. One of my questions was Truman: Hatcher:: _________: Churchill. The answers were inanimate object, inanimate object, Roosevelt and Reagan.)

Hopefully, you all have a more exciting 4/20. My weekend will be spent writing papers and taking my daughter to two of her friends birthday parties.

Have you read Invisible Cities? I read attentively, and imagined every chapter fully. Then a decade later what he was simply and exhaustively doing in that book snapped into my head and I said "Oh D'uh" to myself. Which collection are you reading? Have you read the Labyrinths short stories by Jorge Luis Borges?

Today is laundry day and I'll head out to do some grocery shopping later this afternoon. Tomorrow, we're headed to the beach then out to a Thai place we visited on Thursday. The Husband got pretty excited when he saw they had some nice beer tasters and some good beer on tap, so he wants to go back when he can enjoy it. He's off work Sunday and Monday, so Sunday we'll go and I'll drive his tipsy *** home.
