As much as everyone jabbers on about it here I'm actually considering downloading it and trying it out myself. You know, like then I can take a break from replaying old FF games.
yeah, I'm sold on that one, but I somehow doubt it'll actually let me download it.
Nope. So who wants to buy the game, burn it on a CD and mail it to me?

Amazon game download sales are all US only. Supposedly it's easy enough to get around if you use a (fake) US billing address since it's just the purchase that's restricted, not the download. But living in the US I never tried.
Edit: Use a Google string like "amazon game downloads fake us address" and you'll find numerous accounts of it working from various people. Use your correct credit card information/address, just a US address in the billing field.
Interesting. I always thought that was verified against your credit card.
Well, that was easy. I had to make a new account, but no sweat.

yeah, what's the scoop with all the downloadable extras. Are they just additional quest packs or something?

Honestly, I didn't think Awakening was all that great. I enjoyed Witch Hunt way more, and it was a fraction of the content. Awakening's story will be important for DA3, though, from dev interviews.
Stone Prisoner is nice--Shale's easily one of the best characters. I got it for "free" (collector's edition), but would have bought it.
Return to Ostagar adds a ridiculously powerful set of heavy armor--it's perfect for Alistair, if you are going to use him as your tank. It also exposes some story elements, but it's not integral.
Warden's Keep adds two new abilities, but they're nothing special. Not terrible, but won't be central to any play style. Builds on the history of the Wardens in Ferelden. But, most importantly, it gives you a storage chest that you can use to upgrade items that can scale with level. Also gives you access to one of the best swords in the game.
Golems I have, but have yet to play.
Witch Hunt is really the link between DAO and DAIII, from what I can tell. It's pure story stuff, but completely outside DA:O's plot, beyond the fact that your Warden is the main character.
Leliana's Song is a "telling" of her past as a bard, and how she came to the chantry.
Darkspawn Chronicles is an alternate reality where the Warden dies (in the joining) and so never gathers the army to defend Denerim. You play as a Darkspawn Lieutenant.

Idiggory ran them down well enough. I'll only add that Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar are all integrated into the main game. You'll find tips or NPCs along the way who'll send you in the direction for them.
Leliana's Song, Witch Hunt, Golems of Omfdsnsadfhg and Darkspawn Chronicles are all "stand alone" one-offs. Awakenings is as well, although it's larger than the rest. Witch Hunt you play as an epilogue to the DA:O story, Leliana's Song is a prelude where you play as Leliana herself.
