So, its the weekend once more, and it looks like it's my turn to make the thread! Anyone doing anything interesting?

Fence is finally going in my back yard, to shut out the annoying dogs. Here is the corner section:

Basically that, but 74 more feet at the moment. I'm haivng to install it in stages on account that making fence out of ouil results in a really expensive fence, and because of stupid CCNR (written by the fence vendor no less, and yes I am annoyed about that) I have to use this type of fence rather than installing some sort of sane economical solution. Posts set over the weekend, then panels go in on Monday.

The rest of the weekend is going to be miscelanious other projects. If it drys up at all, outdoor work will occur. It's been too soggy to even think about getting the lawn mower out of the garage, so it would be nice to tidy the lawn up a bit. That particular corner of the yard has had pretty much nothing done to it either, so it will get all the edging installed, bark dust, plants, etc.

Other than that, nothing too exciting occuring.

Does sleeping, eating cheese, drinking beer and pretending the rest of the world doesn't exist count as exciting?

Tomorrow Jonwin and I are taking the grand kids to the library to play with Legos.

Rest of weekend will most likely be spent watching Game of Thrones.. One of our friends is lending us his copy, so we don't always have to watch classic movies on TCM, or the History channel shows on WWII.

Jonwin also has gotten me to do more of the driving, since he on pain pills, It looks like I get to get some more highway driving practice tomorrow as we pick up and drop off the grand kids on the other side of town..

The guy hosting my Sunday RPG makes Corned Beef and Cabbage every year for St. Patrick's day (on whichever Sunday is closest). Now I find out my sister's in-laws are making Corned Beef and Cabbage on Saturday (and we're all invited). So... I suspect there will be a lot of Corned Beef and Cabbage and Beer/Cider/Other-Alcohol (and games!) over this weekend.

I doubt much else will be accomplished.

Spent the morning yelling at our idiot HR department at work. I knew that I was out of paid time off and needed to get my short term disability going. I started the process on Monday! True to how a badly run state agency is: They never sent me the paperwork! It was supposed to be overnight and certified.mail. I called today and the HR department at the school was never notified and nothing was sent! "ARRRRGH!" Now I won't get a paycheck till 1-15-12 instead of 1-1-12. And it will be short! It makes you want to go postal on them. I also went and upgraded a friends HP computer. I was amazed that it actually played World of Tanks at the lowest setting with the on board graphics chip. I had him order a video card and 8 gigs of memory for his computer. Now it has 12 gigs and a nice GT 5500 graphics card. The computer is a completely different animal now! He's very happy.

Taking a nap is pretty high on my list. I didn't get much sleep this week, so I'll be making up for that this weekend. It's also the free weekend for SW:TOR, so I've got that to muck about with. I went with a Sith Inquistor for my first character, I'll probably try a few different classes to see what I like the most. Aside from that, it's been unseasonably warm this week, and tomorrow is supposed to be 75 and sunny. I suppose I'll see about making sure that nature still exists.

Been working on pulling weeds out of the front yard, about half done. Second half is going to be a pain though since it is about twice as heavy with weeds. I also need to figure out what to do with my backyard. I sprayed a bunch of weed killer back there and now I am looking at it in amazment that I had THAT much weeds back there. I might just say "balls to it", tear up the yard and lay down some fresh seed. Although I am not looking forward to doing that due to having 4 dogs that are onry as heck and will more than not get themselves muddy every single time I water the yard. Smiley: glare Besides that I got to spray for bugs and check under the deck for any fire ants that decided to make home. They have popped up next to the sidewalk and next door, would hate for the muts to get into a mound of them.

Speaking of dogs I got to trim nails. Two of them are easy enough to take care of, one can be a bother and the final one I don't dare do myself. That dog goes to the vet every time if I want to keep my fingers.

Video game wise I will be checking my email for GW2 beta since they are / getting ready to send out another wave of invites. Periodically check the Firefall website and see if I can get lucky with the beta for that game. Recently gotten into Skyrim again. Before even reaching level 4 I found a new building with a big bandit cave under it that I completely missed despite having over 150 hours invested into that game already. I was thoroughly happy. Smiley: grin

Since I start work at a "real" job on Monday, I suppose this is officially my first weekend since moving to Hawaii. :D Tonight I'm making Corned Beef and boiled potatoes in recognition of St. Patty's day. (Which, for me, is really just an excuse to make corned beef. I love that stuff.) Unfortunately, last weekend I dropped and shattered an almost full bottle of $30 Irish whiskey, slicing a cut in the bottom of my foot to boot, so I will not be complimenting my meal with that. Which makes me very very sad. So I shall eat boiled meat and potatoes while watching NetFlix or possibly Grey's or Private Practice, then I'll waste hours playing WoW.

Saturday, my husband works and we only have one car, so I'll probably eat leftovers and play WoW until I'm too tired to do anything else.

Sunday, the husband and I are going to visit the botanical gardens in town. Before that, we'll probably visit the dump and drop off our trash (riveting, I know) and after the gardens, we'll probably take a jug or two to the free county water faucet off the highway and fill up.

I am spending the weekend in Boston for Hubbable, a parkour jam with something over four hundred people. My wife didn't care for the idea of staying home with two little ones, so they're all coming also. Along with St. Paddy's Day, it'll be interesting.

Congrats on the job, Belki!

Rainy and chilly here, so I'm planning a lazy weekend of cooking and napping, with occasional breaks to chase the cats around. Keeps 'em stirred up, ya know.

Left the little one with the grandparents and went to various St Patrick's parties. So now I've got the hangover from **** and hoping a little hair of the dog will stabilize my condition. Also thankful for spellcheck, because this post felt like an impossible feat without it.

My son's car bit the dust this weekend, so I got to lend him mine to get to work on Sunday and today I get to use my lunch hour to go bring him to work and then I get to pick him up again at 9 tonight. I feel like I've been through this before.

So anyways, I was stuck without a vehicle for much of the weekend. So, I did the proverbial spring cleaning and cleaned windows - inside and out. Weather was gorgeous this weekend. I also yoga'ed outside, ate a couple meals outside, napped outside. Just wish I could start in on yard work, but yard is still snow-covered.

I also played a bunch of Skyrim. God that games a time-hog.

Bleh, I'm ready for March* to be over. Work's been mentally exhausting for the past few weeks. I'm getting pulled in a different direction from every limb for someone's 'urgent' project. It's impossible to meet the sudden's hard enough keeping all the plates spinning. And last Thursday I met, I believe, the nastiest/rudest woman I've ever met in my life. Ugh.

Being an adult is hard. Smiley: frown
