I wonder which out-of-context and misleading remark they'll carve as a his epitaph.

Meh. He wasn't the most ethical of journalists (Shirley Sherrod), but he did push some interesting stuff that other media outlets seemed perfectly content to ignore (Acorn, Anthony Weiner, etc.).

I'm sure the folks at Fox News are heartbroken.

And there's the epitaph.

"Here lies Breitbart. Known for exposing Weiner."

That missed the point but I suppose it's not important.

Anyway, Varus, Gbaji and ThiefX have taken to Twitter to express their grief.

What's the over/under on a dramatized biopic? I say they crank one out in a year, trying to ride the small political film trend going on.

I predict a biopic by September. It will be nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD (tm) for best editing.

Obama didn't do a thing. It was the CIA.

Why I won't miss him, had to do with his form of tabloid journalism. I'll give him a pass for what he did to Wiener, as sending photos of one's junk was down right stupid on his part. ACORN and Shirley Sherrod both though did not need to be attacked with lies. Don't like a person or group for their political activism, then go after them with the truth and let the people decide who to back.

Still no hate here just a strong dislike for liers and those who repeat them knowing they are out right lies.

My favorite comment so far was in response to an "Obama did it" post:

No, I'm sure he didn't, but just watch him take credit for it.

Feel terrible for his family; a childhood friend of mine had her father drop dead of a heart condition at 42 while jogging. Was absolutely horrible. And I'm pretty sure Obama didn't do it.

As for the man himself, I see him as a more online-focused, right-wing version of Michael Moore. His works were incredibly one-sided and exaggerated, but he did at times get ahold of something. While the Sherrod and ACORN stuff was more lies than truth, Weiner and calling out racism in the Tea Party were decent. I don't agree with his personal views either (he had a mouth that could make Rush Laimbaugh nod approvingly), but he was a supporter of GOProud, the gay GOP organization (well, until they outed one of Rick Perry's aides. Lulz).

Overall, I feel sorry for his family, ambivalent about his accomplishments, and amused by the conservative commentators screaming that Obama had the CIA poison him Smiley: laugh Conspiracy theorists: always good for making sad occasions funny!

Edit: Speaking of conspiracy theorists, "Sheriff Joe" released a report today that said there's probable cause that Obama's birth certificate is a forgery and fraud. He stopped short of saying Obama did it himself. Guy needs to grow some cojones.

Damn you, Hill-dog!

(Whose campaign also started the birther conspiracy, might I add? Smiley: bah)

It was actually pretty sad when it happened though. The guy had divorced his wife a few years before, but was making efforts to reconnect with his children. The week before they were all supposed to go on vacation together he was jogging along a popular trail and suddenly collapsed. Ambulance arrived within 10 minutes, but it was already too late. I would never wish that on anyone else's family Smiley: frown

... truth be told, that personal experience might be most of the reason I feel bad for Breitbart.

Breitbart drank too much and (allegedly) used a lot of coke. He was overweight and perpetually outraged. He did it to himself. Yeah, it's tragic when a 42-year-old drops dead; but the fact that he was a dishonest raging ******* of an attention ***** mitigates the pain I feel, oddly enough.

The Left likely had him killed. They'd have every reason to have Brietbart silenced as he exposed the corruption of everything they stand for: the aggregation of overweening governmental power, the wholesale turnover of this country's culture for our enemy's, and the destruction of the United States' #1 postion in the world.

Hey, it's not any crazier than the wild 9/11 conspiracy theories and astoundingly wacky ideas about why we went to war in Iraq I've heard.

I'll concede the 9/11 conspiracy theories if you concede "WMDs" was a wacky idea about why we went to war in Iraq.

Fly safe, dude!
