Couldn't you just have them take some off the other side too, to even them out?

I did that too. Tripped over my sister and landed on a coffee table with a very sharp wooden edge. In my defense, for whatever reason she decided rolling on the floor towards me as I was walking was a good idea. That was probably when i was 8.

Yes, I was a fairly accident prone child.

I'm now imagining you looking like a war veteran with scars all over the place.

Edit: Really over the top scars even, like some sort of Austin Powers character.

Nah, not that bad. Though I do have a surgery scar on my neck, and a sword scar on my leg. All the others are small.

Sometimes old fencing foil blades break. The person I was practicing with during my college fencing class was using an old blade that should have been retired years before. He also wasn't very good, so when he attempted a lunge, he managed to hit way off target with the blade bent against the normal impact curve, while at the same time falling over. The blade snapped, and the jagged edge of the remaining blade went down the outside of my right calf, leaving a 2 inch scar. So yes, I have a dueling scar. I also had to get a crapload of Tetnus booster shots and a bunch of stitches, which sucked. The guy was very appologetic, and he didn't mean to do it, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. Risks of the hobby and all.

Nah, you only do that the First time you get stabbed. And only if they meant it. Now that i think about it, there's probably a scar from that one on the back somewhere too, not that I can see it.

This is either why the Chinese will defeat us or why we'll defeat the Chinese. I'm not sure which one yet.

Considering that was done at the University of Pennsylvania, I'd say we're sitting pretty on that one.

That's the point...either we'll defeat China with a well-orchestrated swarm of autonomous attack gizmos, or else we'll be too distracted with the lofty reaches of geekdom to notice the Red Dawn.
