With the North Atlantic conveyor system shutting down, yeah you're gonna be pretty screwed.
You can't fool me. That got shut down during the Falklands War.

We may have Falklands War 2.0 to look forward to! According to Argentina my government has parked a nuclear armed sub in the area. Not entirely sure how they're justifying that, but whatever.

Fairly certain we couldn't defend those islands if Argentina made another play for them. We just don't have the presence at sea any more. Shame, really. The people there don't want to be Argentinian. I can't help but feel the massive oil fields discovered there last year have rekindled their interest in the Falklands, though.

Do you guys get enough snow to warrant winter tires? Do you not normally drive in all-seasons tires or do you guys just do summer tires? Do they even make "just" summer tires anymore?
We pretty much just have all-season tires. It rains a lot here, so I don't think "summer tires" is a thing. It is, however, getting colder which is annoyingly a side effect of global warming.

That's because it's irrelevant as Moscow isn't receiving the benefits of a heated body of water enxtto it. You want to keep it simialr, think Vancouver, who's actually slightly north.

I'm not. I just happen to believe that revenge is best served over a bed of hot coals in a delicious Basil butter sauce.

Better revenge would be to whip it at cars.

Noo. That's what I'm getting at. Rising sea levels could disrupt the NAD Which would mean no more warm water for Northern Europe. Well, less any way. Then London becomes as cold as Moscow!

Also how did you manage to type "enxtto"? :3

Uhm, I hit e before n and missed the space? That's only a guess though, because if I knew I did it, I would have fixed it.

You should be more worried about washing away than you should about becoming as cold as Moscow.

It stopped working and I can't figure out how to get it working again. Also, can't really be bothered to mess around and find the issue. Tried once for 5 minutes and gave up.

Read some analysis some car group did on winter, summer, and all-season tires (can't remember who did it, and don't feel like re-googling it. Yes, that's a word). Anywho. The results basically are that summer tires are best on warm dry surfaces, and winter tires are best on cold snowy/ice surfaces, with each doing incredibly poorly in the opposite condition. Interestingly enough, summer tires also did best in rainy conditions. All-season tires don't perform best under any condition at all, however they performed much much better than summer tires in snowy/ice conditions.

Their conclusion was basically if it never (or very very rarely) snows where you live, just buy summer tires. They will perform best in the dry and rainy conditions you'll experience through the year. The only reason to buy all-seasons is if it either snows occasionally but not enough to spend the money on a dedicated set of winter tires *or* if it snows regularly and you're not certain you'll have enough warning to switch to winter tires when it does. In those cases, you'll have a tire that'll do poorly, but not dangerously so all year long and not have to worry about switching out the tires.

And yes. They do sell summer tires. I have them on my car right now. Cause it doesn't snow here or something.

It's fine, we'll just invade France. We always beat them in wars any way.

I realize it's Monday, but as my husband has Sundays and Mondays off, this is still sort of the weekend for me.

Today we went to a different beach than usual. This one was just a really big shallow pool, and there were at least three different sea turtles all hangin' out. The swim right up to you and check you out, it's amazing. I was sitting on a rock in the water, and one even came up, put his head in my lap and ate a leaf that was floating in the water in front of me. It was amazing.
