Red is horrid color, but grats on Guru Dozer.

The first mouse you linked looks like it would be murder on the thumb.

I'm still using an equalizer laptop gaming mouse that I've had for years. I've attempted to replace it a couple times but just can't find anything comparable. The size is perfect for my smallish hands, and it has just the right functionality for gaming without become nerdily complex.

Zam needs to 'tax' users on a per-post basis.

Sure. Eventually, you hit a point where you pay less than everyone else. I suspect, I'm in that group, where as, you're most lielly in the highest paying group.

If I didn't have my high post count, you post deprived wouldn't have a place to post. If I get taxed more then why should I post more and give you a place to post?

I tried the perfomance mx in future shop and it seemed nice. If my MX breaks, that's certainly the one I'll move to.

Thanks, Elinda!

I never thought of myself of having small hands but most of the thumb buttons on mice seem to be outside of my normal thumb range as I hold the mouse. The smaller one I have now is pretty good, but not perfect as the forward button is still a tad out of comfort range. I guess I need to hold my mouse deeper in the palm of my hand.

Speaking nerdily complex, I thought about getting this mouse but then I was afraid it would transform and try to take over my condo.

Now the question is how does it adapt to suit your **** needs?

I bet vibrations. Lots and lots of vibrations.

I really want one of these, but I'm not a fan of the wireless, unless it has a docking charger or optional wired hookup.

I think people in the industry like to call that "force feedback". Smiley: lol

I'm not sure why, but that R.A.T. mouse keeps reminding me of that terrible sci-fi movie Screamers. There you are one night happily perusing the interwebs of **** when ... YOUR MOUSE ATTACKS AND GOES FOR YOUR THROAT! (or your crotch... crotch is more frightening)

My co-worker has that mouse. I don't really like it, although it isn't terrible.

Is this the new model of the Logitech Revolution MX? My google results showed it looked a lot like that.

I've a glass desk at home and it took me a while to finally find a mouse that worked on it flawlessly, which is the previously linked mouse's cheaper, country cousin: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/mice/devices/anywhere-mouse-mx I tried a few others that claimed to work on glass but didn't, without lurching around in fits.

I've no idea how it compares to the Logitech Revolution MX. I was thinking of getting the Performance MX for home and bring my home mouse to work (since my work one sucks), but if you guys are referring to the Performance MX mouse as being not-so-hot, then I may have second thoughts. If you are, what is bum about it?

Jophiel wrote:
I haven't tried the Performance MX so I don't have an opinion on it. It looks, ergonomically, very similar to the Revolution. I'm just very happy with the feel of my Revolution and so go through the effort of fixing it rather than replacing it.

The Performance MX is a distinct downgrade from the MX Revolution in several key respects. Now don't get me wrong, there are a couple glaring flaws with the MX Revolution, noteably the lack or an easily replaceable battery, the actual wireless radio inside tends to conflict with bluetooth networks, and there are newer sensor technologies that were not available at the time it was made that should be in a Revolution Version 2, but the Performance MX isn't that mouse.

I have 2 main problems with the Performance MX. The first is that they screwed with what I would argue to be the absolute best, most ingenious scroll wheel on a mouse of all time. Instead of having the option for an automatically sensing shift into free spinning flywheel mode like the MX revolution had, the Performance MX forces you to hit a button each time you want to shift. I can see some people would like that better, but I found it incredibly annoying, and there is no reason it couldn't be an option to work either way. The second main, and unforgivable problem, is that they took cost cutting to extreme measures on what was supposed to be their flagship wireless mouse. If you compare the performance MX and the revolution MX side by side, the Performance MX looks, feels, and is cheaply made. The plastic is flimsy, the finishes are lower grade materials, the whole thing is needlessly larger to accomodate cheaper bulkier components, and the flywheel is now a simplified cheap trinket that doesn't work half as well as the origional one. I will admit that the wireless radio inside the performance MX is much more stable, and the darkfield sensor does lend itself to better mouse tracking and gets rid of that annoying hitch tendancy that the MX revolution sometimes shows, but other than that, it really is a major downgrade. So is the gamer version with the 6 extra buttons that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head.

Either way, I was really dissappointed.

The R.A.T. series mice are actually extremely comfortable/adjustable. The problem is, they will break. Whether it lasts a week, a month, or a year (I can't imagine one lasting longer than a year), it WILL eventually break, and customer service associated with Madcatz is godawful on its best days. The lasers in those things are the most frustratingly horrendous pieces of technology ever invented. On the plus side, though, the click is satisfying.

The Aztecs invented the scroll wheel but it didn't count as a real wheel because their mouse wasn't cordless.

Am I the only one that still uses a mouse-flavored mouse? It's a Logitech, but it's just a plain-ole mouse. With a tail and all. I won't go wireless until I'm forced too. I don't even like to keep up with the batteries for my TV remotes.

Ah, thanks Kaolian for breaking it down for me. With the price tag on it, I wanted more info on it. And thanks LeWoVoc for the RAT info. I think I will stick with what I have.
