Ok. I was watching some late night TV. Zipping through the commercials, when I had to back up to see what I thought was a joke. Nope. It's not. I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the damn floor, then I couldn't stop laughing. It's just sooooo bad.

I couldn't help thinking about that old joke photo with the 'hands free' kit that was just a phone with a rubber band holding it. Yeah, this one.

Seriously? I'm pretty sure this is one of the signs of the apocalypse or something.

I saw that last night, and I was pretty sure it was one of the "Tired of seeing horrible crap like this? Well, take these surveys blah blah blah" commercials. I'm pretty sure they owe me money, I invented something like that when I was in grade school, but I used duct tape.

That name is awesome. The slogan should be "For those times when you need both hands."

And did you see the comparison?? The gojo guy totally had like three conversations while the other guy was fumbling around with his "hands free" device.

When I was ten I disassembled a cordless home phone and strapped the components to one of those plastic souvenir baseball helmets.

But I would never get something like this. I would rather look like an elitist douchebag with a bluetooth headset. Hell, I've worn two at the same time.

I have a good friend who walks around with his bluetooth in far too much. I always get a kick out of it, he really does look like a douchebag.

I even called him one time and mid-conversation he starts talking to a cashier ringing up his sale. I said to him "Ohhhh, you're one of those people" and he got all offended.

When I'm on shift I usually have my Bluetooth on. I only use it for my work phone.

That episode of Flight of the Conchords were Bret quits the band and becomes a sign-holder for the bluetooth store was epic win.

My work bluetooth headset is not quite hands free. I have a button on the side I can touch to answer the phone, and if I want to actually dial a number, I still need to be at the handset because my headset has no numbers.

Still, it's good for calls where I know I'll be on the line a long time... like today when I had to call Charter. Smiley: frown

Yeah. I'll connect the bluetooth earpiece thingie when I get a call at home and need to talk to someone and work the computer at the same time. It's also convenient for any longish phone call, so I don't have to hold the phone to my ear.

Most phones today have a voice dialing system. You push the call button on the bluetooth device and it *** you for a command. You say something like "call someone" or "make call" and then say a name in your contact list and then it places the call. I make calls like this in my car all the time. It's not perfect though. If I'm driving at freeway speeds, the road noise is sufficient to confuse the hell out of it and it starts thinking I said something not even remotely close to what I said. It's usually pretty good though.

Strapping my cell phone to my head? Lol...

"Why look like a 21st century douchebag, when you could look like a 20th century target for ridicule! Call in the next 5 minutes, and will include two "phone cozies, so that you can wear it AND keep your ears warm during the cold winter! From the makers of the hands-free-beer-drinking-hat"

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

It only needs a beer holder with a sucky-tube mounted on the opposite side of the phone suction for it to qualify for the Walmart store shelf.
